that players who are out of contract will be paid. Tomorrow is their first day of unemployment but will it be? It seems strange that despite all the speculation, players like AA and Grandison are still, officially Shrewsbury Town players. Most of the speculation has been created by the fans themselves and compounded by lazy journalists who are short of news and all this has created FACTS, facts that were never there in the first place. Subsequently rumours get extended, exaggerated and believed to be true by gullible people.
It is very interesting that none of the seven players signed by MM were second guessed before they signed for the club so why there should be any more accuracy with the status of out of contract players I dont know.
Surely if the four players were in demand they would have gone elsewhere by now. Shrewsbury didnt wait for July 1st before signing seven new players and I guess if they were in demand by other clubs Grandison, Mangan and AA surely they would have been snapped up by now.
It could be signing on time this time tomorrow or maybe an agreement by these players to accept what Shrewsbury can afford to pay them. We will have to wait and see................

MM is allowing both Mangan and JLAA to go, according to the Shropshire Star. Apparently, he wants "a fox in the box" type striker. Funny that, as I thought that was exactly what Mangan was.
Thanks to both Mangan and JLAA for their fantastic efforts last season and I'm sincerely hoping we don't regret this decision.

Note the accuracy of the Shropshire Star reporting. Did you know that Bobby Grant was an on loan Peterborough forward?

So Melon has a list of 25 strikers he is after that are a fox in the box, available as a free you would think and is someone either we can develop or has some experience. Any ideas? Who are the 25 foxes!?

MM description of a fox in the box fits Mangan, so it is pretty clear wages and the 55% cap is pivotal in his release

One thing to note in all the speculation has been that AA is out all together however he has been snapping away on holiday until the other day in Bangkok with his Mrs. and areas around there, perhaps he has not had chance to look over contract offer yet!? Who knows? I will wait to read it on the clubs site with MM thanks for your service speech

Who knows? I will wait to read it on the clubs site with MM thanks for your service speech He's only had the best part of two months to muse over his contract offer. Its a well known fact that players contracts expire on 30/6, so a poor argument there.

I understand that if a player has not signed for another club by the 30th July then his last club has to pay him again on that date, almost as a final redundancy payment.
Seem to recall that I picked this up off Bulls Banter as Hereford fans have had far greater experience than us with releasing vast numbers of players

Strange one with mangan as he did an interview 2/3 weeks ago saying the deal was on the table , he wanted to stay , and that he was close to signing .

No rush by Birmingham City or Plymouth to sign up Grandison or AA either
