It'll be interesting to see if there is a significant increase in shop sales now our rightful badge is back.

Where do the Superblues fit in here? I and many of my friends are Superblues and we all backed the campaign to the hilt. I travel with the Superblues chairman and he definitely wanted the loggerheads back.
My view is well done to all of you who campaigned and to those of us who literally bought the tee shirt and did what they could to assist but now it is time for everyone to move on and enjoy the new identity and hopefully a successful new season.

I wish now I hadn't binned my copy of the book, Blue And Amber Stripes. When I got to page 12, and the author said the comedy lion was here to stay and we should MOVE ON, I chucked it in a dustbin in Marsa Alam.
Right you are, Sir, I'm ready to MOVE ON now.

I'm not sure anyone knows what its like to be vilified MORE than Geoffrey on this matter. Some of the mud slung at him on here, in general and even senior members of existing fans groups was ridiculous and embarrassing. That he stuck at it (with others) is a huge testament to him. I was witness to a verbal attack on Geoff towards the end of last season. A committee member of a fans group was walking just in front of me after exiting a football ground. He must have spotted Geoff just in front of him and effectively called him out, referencing this message board and the badge issue. Fair play to Geoff he did not react.

I have the utmost respect for what the guys achieved, they laid the foundations for the campaign and we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity through the SP to build an immediate working relationship with Matt Williams and achieve our ultimate goal. Well done Geoff, Justin and everyone else involved Roger

That is very sad to hear but it says more about the individual than it does about Geoff. Shame on them we do, after all, live in a democracy.

And you don't think that someone entering the word 'yawn' into someone else's thread isn't an attempt to belittle it. Hypocritical don't you think. Undoubtedly so, Lord! His first post - however - was thoroughly in-keeping with the strangeness of B&A's resident Justin Lee Collins lookalike. Much like his doppelgänger, he is prone to online stalking and loves nothing better than to try and goad me into digital confrontation. I became wise to this many months back. Be under no illusion guys, theshrews81 firmly and steadfastly opposed the reinstatement of a Loggerheads-based crest. By his own admission, he was one of just 99 fans - out of 1071 total voters (91.5%) - to vote 'no' to change in 2014. In doing so, he ultimately voted against progress, STFC's commercial interests and our club's proud identity as a whole. His 'view' on the subject was indeed different to mine and also that of hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of like-minded patriots. I hope he reflects on his opposition - and disregard for our heritage - each and every time he sees the beautiful new crest on a shirt, programme, website or television screen. WATP - We Are The People At least he doesn't lower himself to personal abuse like you! How would you like it if others kept making statements about your appearance...You can be a credit to the club at time but seem to like to target innocent fans who just dont agree with you.... Grow up

Just catching up with this excellent news. Wonderful to see the loggerheads back on the website and social media accounts, well done to all involved. A victory for fan power.
One point though - does anyone else recall media manager Ian "Whitters" Whitfield arguing repeatedly on B&A and Facebook that we physically couldn't have three traditional Loggerheads in a triangular formation due to copyright reasons? He - intentionally or otherwise - got it spectacularly wrong. Am surprised that more hasn't been made of this.

If we were so minded I am sure we could go through many posts on here and elsewhere where we have been told , or fed miss- information regarding the Badge. if we were bloody minded we could call these people out and ask them to explain their actions, and why they were so determined to prevent the return to our badge. But, I think we are better than that, and having achieved our aim should now enjoy our victory and move on.

You are the guy who said the campaign was wasting their time. You are the guy who said the clip art was more than acceptable for our club. How can you 'Yawn' when you look so f*cking ridiculous? No mark check your facts. I actually Said I liked the lion badge. Now that we have a new badge which by the way looks nothing like the old badge, if you think that looks good you are ducking ridiculous

It's quite ironic that some of the most vociferous champions of our history should be younger supporters like Geoff and Justin, (and a few others I won't mention). Had old goats like me led the campaign, we'd probably have wearied, but never given up. But these gents constantly came up with fresh ideas to bolster the cause.
I've nowt against people who weren't bothered either way, I know a few. But it puzzled me that some of them such an active interest and argued about something they couldn't care less about.

Good post. And fully agree with you concerning the two lads Geoff and Justin. Some of those against the return to the Loggerheads laughed and ridiculed the fact that we had two " youngsters" leading our campaign. Well, they felt the full force of their intellect and fighting spirit in the end, did'nt they.

The aim was to get the Loggerheads Back. The aim wasn't to get the original badges back.
I'm glad the badge is similar to Shrewsbury Juniors, it provides a link to a wider community and of course Shrewsbury Juniors are from , er Shrewsbury.

You therefore were happy with it to be our badge yes? Now the campaign was not about bringing back the 'old badge'. It was about bringing back the Loggerheads. Oh guess what.... Loggerheads! Exactly as we had on the 'old badge'. Of course you don't like it, but as with your fondness for the ridiculous clip-art lion, you are once again heavily in the minority.
