His agent won't be in the slightest bit concerned so long as he gets his percentage.
A number of lower league managers have been very critical as to the role of these agents.

Agents really are God awful people...
Self important, arrogant egotists who seem rampantly capable of making even the slightest of potential talents consider themselves entitled world beaters.
It beggars belief.

So would we all Shrewsfan1985. But his agent seems hell bent on taking his percentage and dumping his client in the graveyard of an under 21 development squad.
I suggest that Ginnelly would be far better off listening to the advice of MM, MW, Ryan, Connor, and his mum and dad!
He could even give John Taylor a ring to find out his opinion on agents.

Manager micky mellon is happy for hot prospect josh ginnelly to go ‘window shopping’ – in the hope that he finds Shrewsbury Town is the right place for him all along. The highly-rated 18-year-old winger has rejected two offers of a first professional contract, after three brief appearances last season. Speculation has linked Coventry-born Ginnelly, who was released from Aston Villa’s academy in 2013 before joining Town, with Newcastle, Stoke, Sunderland and Wolves. The player is elieved to be assessing his options with his agent, but Mellon is happy for the teenager to bide his time to make the correct choice. Mellon said: “Josh, his family and his agent are quite rightly seeing what options there are out there, and what’s best for the next stage of his development. “I’d be well impressed if he goes round and looks at all of his options – and has those offers – but then decides to stay at Shrewsbury, because that means he’s 100 per cent sure about staying. www.shropshirestar.com/sport/shrewsbury-town-fc/2015/06/12/boss-hopes-josh-ginnelly-will-choose-town/

Well, if we DO get him to finally sign for us, then I'd suggest a 2 year contract with a further year's option for the Club just to prevent this happening all over again in 2016.

If he stays then fair play to the lad but it must be awfully tempting for him to leave.
Work your magic Micky!

I'd assumed that Birmingham are on the verge of signing him. Nevertheless, have edited my post.

if anyone is to go, we need it to be Goldson, Woods who will bring in more money to be re-invested in the team.

How reliable are these sports news websites that are basically click bait?
I mean do they have the inside track from Ginnelly 's agent?
MM has stated that he's heard nothing from any other club about Ginnelly. All that might be happening is that his agent is touting his name around.

If he goes how much we likely to get?
250K maybe or more?
If the lad doesn't want to be here then good riddance.
Presume he doesn't want to be hence hasn't signed a deal yet.

These tribunal people aren't stupid, he's obviously talented if Prem clubs are keen on him and he had a cracking season for the reserves last year. Mason Springthorpe brought in quarter of a million with 0 first team appearances. Carl Jenkinson went to Arsenal for a million with 9 games for Charlton. It may be structured so some of it is dependent on his success elsewhere, but we won't be getting some poxy, insignificant figure just because he didn't fit in our system last season.

Ginnelly has only been with the club for 2 years as we picked him up after Villa released him. So I really don't think we will get a lot as he didn't come through our academy structure from a younger age. So yes we did aid his development but only over a 2 year period. Any tribunal will also look at that which makes me think the compensation will not be an awful lot.

Depends on whether he has sufficient confidence to make his own decisions rather than relying on an agent who is not necessarily looking after his best interests. Steve Davis, the Crewe Manager, was recently on record as saying that it is most unfortunate that 90% of players go with what their agent tells them to do rather than making their own minds up as to what is best for their long term futures. So a plus mark to Jon Taylor who sacked his agent when he thought he was being given bad advice.

And to Connor Goldson who seemed to side track his agent when he made his decision last year.........it seems agents are having a tough time at the moment with Shrewsbury youngsters who seem to have their heads screwed on. Mind you Ginnelly seems to be making his decision harder than it needs to be, that said he isn't a Shrewsbury lad his DNA was firmly Villan!

He's a young lad who I feel has his head turned unfortunately, I hope his parents have their heads screwed on and that he will listen to them first rather than his agent who probably just wants Josh to join the club who will provide the biggest £££ in commission!
