Roofe will get slated if he signs. Other clubs may pitch in for him . If he gets in the West Brom first team I look forward to seeing him on Thatch Of The Day.

Wouldn't mind Sadler back - doubt he'd be expensive, proved a very solid LB when he was with us and has had a good career at this level since leaving us. Also an area in which we need a new player.

Or, if we set our sights slightly higher, Joe Mattock would be a cracking signing.

Redshaw would be a good signing.

In view of MMs comments, this thread may have been redundant before it was started.

In view of MMs comments, this thread may have been redundant before it was started. Care to explain that point? Ok fair enough, I was probably being a bit over dramatic. However reading through MMs comments for plans for next season it is clear the budget will be tight and as only Wildig has gone, I would have thought it would take more movement out of the club before any new signings can be brought in. It would be interesting to see RWs approach to the new season after he loosened the purse strings considerably at the end of the relegation season.

We can cross Kemar Roofe off the list, he has signed for Oxford on a 3yr deal for an undisclosed fee.

Full credit to Oxford. They knew that Roofe was interesting a number of clubs so got him signed up as quickly as possible. They will be unveiling another signing in the next couple of days too as they are on record as saying that they like to do their business early.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before. Wrexham fans are telling me that MM has been seen at the racecourse, interest in Moult perhaps (even though he has just signed a new contract)

Someone to consider...Anthony Wordsworth is being released by Ipswich but has plenty of league 1 experience and score goals from midfield - mainly for Colchester. www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=46510May well end up back at Colchester but offers league 1 experience and goals from midfield - which is always needed.

Would think he may be beyond us. Had an excellent spell at Crawley in second half of last season.

Jamie Ward is being chased by at least 5 Championship Clubs. So no chance there.
Missed our chance when he was freed by Villa and signed for Torquay.

Sorry to bring back bad Wembley memories, but how about Simeon Jackson, released by Coventry?
Only 28, and with a good goal scoring record.

Paddy McCourt recently released from Brighton, always looked a decent winger to me, however age may be against him with him being 33. Worked with Mellon at Barnsley also. Also a tiny bit mad by all accounts! Would be a useful but expensive player to have at our disposal.

I wonder if Chris Dagnall is still on our radar. He signed an 18 month deal at Orient in January '14 and apparently was keen to come to STFC in the January transfer window. I would imagine that he would like the chance to stay in League One after Orient's relegation. He was with MM at Barnsley.

Yes. According to the Official Wigan website, Perkins has agreed a 1 year contract and will be joining them in July subject to passing a medical.
Steven Schumacher anyone?

Wigan moved in for Perkins the day after his release was announced by Blackpool.
Oxford did much the same with Roofe.
Certainly shows business needs to be done early!
