89 is the highest points total we have achieved in the Football League (or Conference) even recalculating from when it was 2 for a win Previous best 88 in 1974-75 and 2011-12
Best goal difference is 38 in 1958-59 (when I watched King Arthur banging them in) and 37 in 1974-75 when Ray Haywood was leading scorer. Current value is 38 with one to play

and to think of many more points we chucked away, could have been 100+

2-0 up at Exeter a case in point, but water under bridge in a tide of excellence from MM and his marvels

3 points next match would mean that with 92 points Town would have averaged exactly 2 points per match. Is that another new record for the club?

Good to see that we have already got 23 clean sheets so whatever happens a shut out in at least 50% of our league games. Could have been one or two maybe but for injuries to key players.

Swings and roundabouts and all that jazz :-) Looking at the historic league tables shows how well both ourselves and Burton have done - on average 86 points would on have secured the championship in most seasons

Best defence in the whole of the Football League.Only Chelsea, with 26, in the PL having conceded less, but they have played a dozen games less than us
