Many congratulations to everyone connected to the club. Thoroughly deserved.
The icing on the cake is that it looks like Wycombe have failed to make the automatics and Bury are now reliant on Morecambe beating Southend!
And if we've any champagne left we should send a crate up to Morecambe who over the course of the season have come up with some superb results against the other 6 of the top 7 whilst being kind enough to lose to us twice. 6 wins 3 draws 2 defeats and unbeaten away against all of them! They also beat both Luton and Newport home and away.
The problem for Southend is that they are away to Morecambe next Saturday. Any slip up by them and Bury will almost certainly take full advantage, as they are away to the already relegated Tranmere.

It's probably just me, but my joy is slightly dampened by relegating Cheltenham.

Well done, good to hear it. Having attended all matches at home last season and many away, believe me faith and pride takes some sort of battering.

Jean Louis Akpa Akpro says to win the title would be "the cake on the cherry". I think I know what he means!

Credit goes to Mickey Mellon and our chief executive Williams for a great season. Hopefully with good recruitment we can do League One right this time and at least keep the nucleus of the side and Mellon on board.

and certainly not forgetting Roland, whose root and branch brought a couple of diamonds to the club.

Great to finally get it in the bag - can go all out for the win next Saturday and see if we can get the top spot
After that the hard work really starts. Got to get League One right next year or we're right back to square one. Time for everyone to step up and do it right this time

Well done everyone involved at the club, you've done us all proud!
Roland often gets criticism for when things go against us, but if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be where we are. Excellent appointment of MM and thanks for supporting his and the fan's ambitions!

Yyyyyeeeeeessssss!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic achievement, huge congratulations to MM, all the lads and everyone connected to STFC.
Really hope we can snatch the title next week as that will complete the amazing turn around from the abject despair of last season
For me this promotion is right up there as one of the best achievements in our history when you consider where we were 12 months ago.
When you then factor in the giant strides made off the pitch as well it really does make it all the sweeter and that we could be at the start of something really special. We have witnessed the team achieve at various points in our history, but this is different for me, for the first time it really does feel like our team, our club and that us supporters matter and what's more are finally appreciated.
It could be a false dawn of course, but for some reason I don't think it is and the foundations have been set for long term improvement.
Thank you MM, MW and RW
I am one very Proud Salopian tonight!

Fully expect a Town win to give us our highest ever points total. COYB. Result was never in any doubt for me

Sensible stewardship/policing of the inevitable get on the pitch by us. Good reaction from the Cheltenham fans at end of the game too. Great day out

Fantastic day!! Shrewsbury Town are back and what I enjoy most is the togetherness, the like of which I've not seen in many many years. What an atmosphere and noise as well, from those standing and sitting.

Really enjoyable day at the football.
Plenty of Town fans beside me on the home paddock. Excellent noise from the away end.
Feeling proud this evening.

A great day and a great season. From the start of the season it was made clear that promotion was not just a target, but an expectation, and nobody buckled because of that pressure. MM was an inspired choice as a manager and the team he put together has, at times, played as well as any of the good Shrewsbury teams of the past.
If JLAA can have the cake on his cherry net Saturday, it will be no more than we deserve.
Now we must keep as many of this team as we can together...starting with the manager and backroom staff. We are probably resigned to losing Goldson and Woods, as clearly bigger clubs are hovering. And after watching some of the goalkeeping on view from the Premiership and Championship on MOTD and the FL show tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if Jayson L is not on a few radars.
But if we can keep the nucleus of the squad together, get at least another season out of Lawrence to keep us steady, and play with the same ethos and team spirit, then the good times can keep on rolling.
Well done guys.

Just hope Micky's 'very Scottish promotion party' didn't get too out of hand and the lads are still up for next week's game. We want the title!

They sound like me when we lost at Histon in a gutless FA cup match.
I didn't swear, but I shouted at the end of the game, " take that shirt off, you haven't earned the right to wear it".

It looks like they have suffered what we did last season. Players who looked like they weren't bothered, too many loaneees, etc., etc.,. In one way we were fortunate to only drop a division, their horrendous time came in league 2 which meant they dropped out altogether.
Plus the above video, I also read the Gloucester Echo snippets and it seems that only three players stayed on the pitch at the end to applaud the fans - can't see MM allowing that wherever we had finished. A lot of work for their manager to do next season.

It should also be noted that our win came courtesy of 10 of our own players plus Grant who has been with us since October and is interested in signing for us full time.
We've used a few loans this year, but nothing like the numbers that Turner brought in, and with the exception of the right wing back position (Grimmer, Passley) they have only been brought in as cover (Randall, Southern, Mandron, Sharpe).
