Morecambe face Wycombe and home on Saturday and then Southend at Roots Hall for the last game of the season....what are the chances of Aaron Wildig still having an impact on our promotion push?
Wonder what the odds of him scoring in either or both matches?
Also, Southend are at home to Luton on Saturday, who are still in the hunt for the play-offs, despite their horrendous run of form recently...and Northampton's last two games are vs Burton at the Pirelli on Saturday, followed by a trip to Adams Park on the final day, so they could have a major say on the destination of the L2 Trophy.
Maximum points from Cheltenham & Plymouth will at least put us in a good position, but it's all going to be down to Burton slipping up....

Nope, wont have anything to with him, all we have to do is match 1 of the other teams, we already have enough points, no one else will reach 86 points

no one else will reach 86 points idioms.thefreedictionary.com/tempt+fateIt's NEARLY in the bag..................not the same thing as it being in the bag. Both of our remaining fixtires are against teams scrapping like hell for points. Firmly believe we will be in L1 next seaon but still have work to do before we can start the party.

The Aaron Wildig fan club are getting sad now. Was good in a terrible side for a few months last year. We now have Woods, Lawrence and Weso and are much better. Thanks Mr Wildig.

I think he got a 4/10 in the FL Paper for his performance against Burton (wasn't the only one), so I wouldn't expect too much.
Besides which, everyone except Burton is irrelevant to us if we get it right. Plymouth won't be scrapping for points if they beat Tranmere at home on Saturday, they'll already be in the play offs when they come to us.

The title would be the icing on the cake after our disastrous last season . Me, I just want us promoted and then we push on .

We've been down the " don't worry, other teams have to pick up points" road - it often doesn't pan out! Its a very long shot that we won't go up but the until the maths confirm it it would be wise not to tempt fate and concentrate on the task in hand!

Can't argue with your position Taffy . Of course there is still work to be done which translates into the fact that we cannot expect other teams in the mix to drop points to our obvious advantage . Downie is of the opinion that our points total may be enough which may be right but matching one of the other teams results will mean we are nailed on promoted. I well remember Town fans thinking that because we had games in hand we would not be relegated into the Conference . How wrong they were . Other teams had points in the bag which we couldn't match as it turned out . Let's hope we have enough points in the bag already but yes, we must be looking to win both of our remaining matches . I would be gutted if we failed to go up automatically and ended up in the bloody play offs . With our luck we would probably loose against Bury . The thought fills me with dread.

We need one point from two games, we are better than the two teams we are playing (especially Cheltenham, who are rubbish - table doesn't lie at this stage), we have the best defence in the league and have scored the most goals. We'll be getting ourselves promoted, whatever Wildig does (or more likely doesn't) do.

He has already contributed to the cause being in the Morecambe team that won at Bury.

He has already contributed to the cause being in the Morecambe team that won at Bury. Yes. And was involved in the build up to Morecambe's 1st goal. Agent Devitt set up their 2nd goal.

Excellent but let's face it - we need to do it ourselves really.

We never played to his strengths. Bit like Cureton and to a lesser extent Bradshaw then!

Both Cureton and Bradshaw have scored 18 goals this season, one more than Collins who is on 17. Makes you think what they would both do in this current side?

The Aaron Wildig fan club are getting sad now. Was good in a terrible side for a few months last year. We now have Woods, Lawrence and Weso and are much better. Thanks Mr Wildig. Although I doubt that we will have Woods next year. And Weso may not be at 100% from the off after such a long lay-off. If you can be good in a terrible team; surely you should be equally as good in in a better one.

But some teams come to life when they have one foot in the grave - based on your sound logic Leicester city should not be winning games like they are now. Thinking back to great collapses we can look at Newcastle all those years ago. I will not believe we are promoted until the table confirms it - I am a Shrewsbury fan and things never go to plan and therefore go PG Tips up ;-) Saying that I hope it is Burton who implode and those under 20 get to see their first championship winning side

Charlie Adam... similar Wilfred Zaha... Ashley Young. Just some examples of players who shine when in lesser sides and Wildig was in comparison for our struggling side nowhere near as standout a player as those in these teams and our current side compared to last season is essentially a whole league better. Weso rode his bike to the game so I assume hes doing well in recovering.

Two Words. Relegated Yesterday. I guess in your tiny mind you'll be having an Alan Partridge 'At least I had the last laugh' moment. You never had the good grace to admit you were wrong in that instance. Folks on here have such long memories.

You never had the good grace to admit you were wrong in that instance. Folks on here have such long memories. Oh I do believe we are talking about Aaron Wildig in the year 2015. You cant really take the high ground like you have attempted to after the only counter to my opinion you offered was about a player we had two seasons ago. Alex Ferguson was retiring the last time Matt Richards played for us and Ryan Doble was in our squad. I simply played by your rules in applying two words with something completely irrelevant to each others opinion. Cheltenham being relegated has as much relevance to Richards ability as he does to this thread... very little.

Dmshrew really should have created a new account if he ever wanted to be taken seriously on here after his appalling attitude towards Matt Richards.

Yes having an opinion you didn't agree with, what appalling behavior. Disgraceful. Really need to stop talking about football on a football forum because certain posters seem more concerned with emblems and music that the sport we are playing. What good would making a new account be? People would recognize who I am at some point and even if it was 2020 it seems would still bring up Matt 'I PLAY FOR CHELTENHAM GET OVER IT' Richards.
