Did anyone hear the interview with the Telford Manager yesterday on Radio Slops. Seems like they are in big trouble with players refusing to play and when they do turn up they refuse to go on as subs or even come off . Trouble in the dressing room, no confidence in the Manager and so forth . Seems to me that they are a basket case . Lucky they aren't in financial trouble or else that really would be it . Dont think they will be gracing the Conference after this seasons relegation for a long long time to come .

I was wondering if any Juan had a banner for sale that I could hang over a motorway bridge. It would have to be a long Juan, I want to put "Welcome to the Conference North" on it.

Lucky they aren't in financial trouble or else that really would be it . Interesting you say that. According to a Telford fan I know there is talk that they are in dispute with Liam Watson as he hasnt received his pay off and there is speculation that the reason is they cant afford to. Before any Telford fan reading this gets defensive, this was from the mouth of a Telford fan, he did say it was all rumours though. But the whole episode shows how quickly football changes, rewind 12 months ago where it was all doom and gloom for us and they were on the up, I'm pretty sure there were Telford fans claiming we were in decline and it wouldnt be long before we were playing each other again. They will remain a yo-yo side until they get investment elsewhere which of course they are understandably reluctant to do

They will never achieve anything in the Conference Premier until the turn professional. The decision not to do it before this season was mind blowing really. Looking at how Chester have got on this season after they made that decision only strengthens my opinion that it is the only way to survive at that level.

I hear they are interested in a Welsh lad. Well I overheard someone saying Telford and Gerwayne Downe in the same sentence. In all honesty they don't even appear to be putting up any fight which makes it all very sad.

If Carlsberg did interviews ...... It was magnificent. One thing about Kittrick is he speaks his mind. He's inherited some real basket cases of players and, as he said, the PFA are the enemies of the game at this level. It's here if anyone has nothing else to do. The last seven minutes are the best, although Jordan Deceay, the player who wouldn't leave the bench, is named earlier. Quite a bit of the interview was on Radio Five Live also. soundcloud.com/bbc-shropshire-sport/sk2803As for meltdown? Just 670 at the last home game and with the club announcing season tickets at £238 for next season (with increases in some categories) despite a lower level it's hardly surprising the forum is in meltdown. Overpriced in my opinion but, as I've only been to four games this season, maybe I shouldn't comment.

Personally hope they sort their problems out and bounce back. I just appreciate how lucky Town are at present. A downward turn in luck can happen very quickly in football.

Certainly over priced when for an extra £57 you will be able to watch football three Divisions higher in the County next season

I'm sure you have valid reasons for not attending Mike but you're typical of a lot of Telford fans who have stopped attending. I appreciate that most clubs see a dip in attendances when the going gets tough but it does amuse in some ways that it points to most Telford 'fans' that went along when you were doing well in lower divisions are now nowhere to be seen. The term glory hunters has never been more apt. I'm sure when you're thrashing the likes of Colwyn Bay next season the glory hunters will return and also the return of buffoons to the torturous radio Shropshire verdict programme proclaiming that the mighty bucks are on the way to the football league. Maybe Lee Carter can pass comment on other clubs finances for the umpteenth time who don't have the luxury of being subsidised by their local council.

Unless Telford gain at least a league place they are always going to struggle to attract those who have moved into the area and failed to leave behind the Clubs they supported and if the next generation go with their Dad to the Football then it may take generations to build up sufficient support. You may get a few fans who haven't had parents/relatives to take them to games so have needed to go to Telford to watch a game of Football. In time they may have kids and pass on the tradition which is how small clubs usually build their supporter base. Yet this is the major problem for AFC Telford. Someones going to have to have sex with a Telford fan to create the next generation that I'm afraid is not going to happen.
How far are Market Drayton away in the Non-League system?

Always thought that if they built a nice new stadium in and around Malinsgate they'd do fine. Plenty of land around in Telford and suddenly AFC would be viewed as Telford's team instead of Wellington's.

Plenty of land around in Telford and suddenly AFC would be viewed as Telford's team instead of Wellington's. I've always said that Telford Utd missed the biggest opportunity in the early '80s. GKN Sankey offered them a straight swap; the dilapidated Bucks Head for the far better Sankey stadium (with at the time a far better pitch than we had at the Meddah) and the use of probably one of the best Sports and Social clubs in the West Midlands. The morons in charge at the time turned them down flat because they still considered themselves to be Wellington Town and they had no intention of moving to Hadley. Within 12 months the Sankey club had closed down, Sankeys football team had gone and the rest is history. Sometimes I wonder where Telford would be now if they had accepted that offer, maybe we would have been the 2nd team in the county. Oh well, never mind eh

Never mind £57 extra to watch your lot. For £60 extra (to ours) you could watch Premier League! Maybe we're not the only ones overpriced. :-)
Several reasons for not attending:
a). It was costing over £60 for my daughter and I to attend a home match. b). Time constraints. Family commitments on Tuesdays mean those games are out. c). Work commitments. Longer hours and responsibilities - sadly not for any extra pay though - ruled games out. d). Lack of commitment by the players to the supporters.

They could have offered Shropshire's 2nd and only other Professional Club a home instead of Oswestry. It must be pretty bad having the Senior Cup as your only goal when the main teams in it couldn't care less and use it as a Reserve team tournament.

I'm afraid it goes with the territory that people who move to Shropshire from the migglands continue to support the team from the area they've left. Hence some Juan who moved to a house a few miles from me, called his new residence, "The Villa".

It cost £33 for an Adult and One kid at Villa. Where you get £57 extra for us I don't know? We aren't £57 more than anyone even Market Drayton.

Liked the dig at Dover - sure the manager of Dover (10th placed)should be given a right to reply to Compos rant!

Kittrick (obnoxious, never shuts up) appears to be almost as irritating as his predecessors, Rob 'n' Larry (childrens gameshow hosts), Sinton (severe paranoia, monotonous voice) and Watson (montonous voice, pass the buck).
It's Nick Southall and Steve Humbles I feel sorry for.

The £60 was maybe a bit high but included 'match day' costs of admission, car park, 50/50, a pint etc pre-game and, of course, a 75mile or so round trip.

Carter has lost interest in running AFC Telford now that he has joined the gravy train that is the Telford Labour Party.
