It's namby-pamby PC gone mad when a fellow can't t**t a junior colleague in the face for not promptly serving up steak after a hard day's talking b******s. They will probably replace Top Gear with some programme about yoghurt fuelled cars made by Fair Trade. We might as well all go and live in North Korea. What about a documentary on sandal making or lentil farming, I cannot wait.

Plenty of footballers that have fights or stamp on people yet they're not sacked? Football is a physical contact sport (breaching the roles gets you lengthy bans and fines)..............presenting a TV programme is not. But, take your point, and tomorrow will be going in two footed on the bi*ch from accounts who messed up my milage claim last week.

He show team up with fellow t**t Richard Littlejohn - the result would be a far right version of Blue Peter, where you can build your own "Bl00dy Foreigner" barrier out of sticky backed plastic and razor wire.

What's where it all went tits up for our Jeremy . If he had t**tted Littlejohn good and proper followedby a swift kick inthe gonads I for one would be campaigning for a knighthood at least . Sir Jeremy Clarkson , has a certain ring to it don't you think.

Going slightly off topic but each time James May is interviewed leaving his house and is commenting on the story he seems to be wearing a number of increasingly stupid hats!
Started off with a cloth cap which he was wearing inside for some reason; last week it was a kind of Hunting cap; today it was a rainbow coloured trilby hat - have I missed out on some joke he is running with or is May also losing the plot?

I hope he finds work again and soon anyhows. I can't say I watch Top Gear (and I guess that's pretty much all he's in, so not a fan as it were) but I do find it highly entertaining how he seems to wind so many people up. Its hilarious. You must be splitting your sides at the amount of people the BBC are winding up then.

Someone mentions the Beeb and how they might have handled it better but for the most part it's centered on Clarkson. You have the personal attacks on Clarkson (and indeed his co-presenters). This is pretty much what i have seen over the last couple of weeks. People really do seem to get wound up about the bloke. I mean there are some pretty nasty things said about him. Considering who he is, considering what he does? Anyhows, I do think there is a little bit of the green eyed monster about this. I mean he's not everyone's cup of tea. Yet he is successful, rich and very popular. I think that grates with a lot of people and hence the amount of personal abuse he receives. Which I find baffling and amusing in equal measure.

He punched a colleague in the face hard enough that he required hospital treatment and continued to verbally abuse him. What's to like? Sure, he has a blustering style that people seem to love and loathe in equal measure, but he's also crossed the line with some quite nasty racial slurs on a couple of occasions. The fact he felt entitled to assault someone because the spread on offer wasn't too his liking suggests that he and his ego lost touch with reality some time ago.

Perhaps he should try bread and water for a few months.

So rejoice. Enjoy...

Has he been sacked? Or has he been put on the naughty step for a short while. According to Yentob, the door for his return has not been slammed shut, there remains a possibility that be may be seen on our screens again sometime in the future. All Al la that ****wit Brand.
There is one thing that the Beeb does very well, in all its manifestations, and that is that it pumps itself up full of righteous indignation on the publics behalf , but cleverly does not qute go all the way and kill the "fatted calf".
Clarkson will be back and fronting a programme for the Beeb next year.

You mean different people have varying and opposing opinions on a celebrity presenter of a cult tv show / writer of a pretty controversial and opinionated newspaper column? Wow imagine that. The guy has been very forward at expressing very publicly and deliberately some very controversial views and opinions, designed to attract attention and generally wind people up. How can you be surprised that some of those people are now gleefully having a chortle that the prick has got just a little bit of his comeuppance?

I'm not surprised people are happy that he has been sacked. I am however, surprised by the amount and the extent of the abuse and opinion. Looking to the comments and abuse thrown his way this isn't some mild dislike for a fair few folk. It's a way beyond that. I'm referring more to the comments I have seen at newspaper sites. The extent of the dislike, even hatred towards the chap. How he's wound so many people up. That is what I find baffling and amusing. I guess you don't find such things baffling and amusing. That's OK, I'm good with that. I do, however. So we can just agree to disagree and you can enjoy his comeuppance. Fill yer boots.

It's all part of a media game really. The media needs characters like Clarkson, Brand, Hopkins etc to play up and create stories; which in turn are guaranteed to fill lots of column inches and website comment sections, while everyone makes a tidy profit from it
I suspect Clarkson doesn't believe 99% of the stuff he says; neither do the people ranting about him in the papers really care much - it's just to sell papers and distract the masses from the real issues.

He may well not believe 99% of what he says - he could become a politician! But even he can't deny he hit a work colleague and that is what is inexcusable.
