Don't get to the cinema much. I went with the Dragon to see the "new" War Of The Worlds. I found it totally unbelievable. How can you eat that much popcorn in 90 minutes?
The last film I saw in Salop was Furry Creatures. I must admit I quite enjoyed it. The only reason I was there, was that a neighbour had gone into hospital for a check up on the child she was carrying. They decided to keep her in, and with her partner working away, her other son had nowhere to stay, so we had him move in with us for a week. The Dragon thought we ought to treat him to a trip to the flicks, hence Furry Creatures.
I'm not keen on Bond or Dirty harry type of stuff. My thing is spaghetti westerns. I thought Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and especially the late Eli Wallach as "Tuco", were brilliant. I've watched the spaghetti's loads of times.
You got a favourite film?

Got to go with JT's westerns theme - Once Upon A Time In The West is a superb film. Exceptionally well made, acted and a cracking sound track

Exceptionally well made, acted and a cracking sound track Now that's a coincidence, just started watching it on sky. Thatt's my tv viewing for tonight as it doesn't finish until 10pm. My favourite film of all time though is ZULU. I just hope to goodness that they never ever think of remaking it.

Zulu Fantastic film. Went to watch it about 4 times, got it on video and dvd. I know it's not historically correct. For a start, most of the 24th regiment of Foot came from Warwickshire. I know that Private Henry Hook's family were seething about his portrayal as a drunkard and malingerer. That's not true.
I met an expert on the subject a few years ago, who said the Zulus weren't believed to have been very well organised in their attacks, or they would have easily over run the defence. What you can't argue about, is the bravery of the Zulus. I've always had the highest regard for them.

A good oldie is L & H's Our relations 1936, the boys short of cash decide to share a beer, Ollie asks for the beer and Stan asks for "two clean straws that haven't been used before" when the barman brings them he says "that will be a quarter" Ollie in disbelieve says "25 cents what for"? The barman's reply "10 cents for the beer and 15 cents for the straws" Ollie " 15 cents for the straws" barman "well you don't think we are giving them away do you? Perhaps their best film, packed full of this kind of humour.

My top five films that I could happily sit down and watch over and over again.
Star Wars. Not any of this ''A New Hope'' rubbish, but the original version.
Once Upon A Time In The West is a fantastic shout, my all time favourite western. Young Guns and Tombstone should also get honourable mentions, Val Kilmers' portrayal of Doc. Holliday was by far his best performance.
Brewsters Millions. Richard Prior was epic, and I still believe that 'None Of The Above' should be on every polling slip.
Restless Natives. No great script or Oscar winning performances, but a brilliant feelgood story.
Saving Private Ryan. I had to choose one Tom Hanks film and this one is probably the best. Could easily have gone for any one of half a dozen others.
Might add another few later.

Brewsters Millions. Richard Prior was epic, and I still believe that 'None Of The Above' should be on every polling slip. A magnificent film. Love it when he mails the stamp! I would chuck into the pot: Platoon A Few Good Men The Green Mile 8 Mile Dead Man Walking Lord of the Rings - the Two Towers and a shout out for Blazing Saddles. One of the few films out there to bring me to tears of laughter. Did I mention Dumb and Dumber? Just before comedies were being influenced by American Pie into being potty mouthed nonsense. But I still don't think they will ever beat Dead Poet's Society: the interplay of absolute genius in acting, incredible script / screenplay and gripping drama. It's a masterpiece.

Yeah Star Wars I'm happy to watch all day. A fair few films I'll settle down to watch even though I've seen them loads of times. Another classic is The Charge of the Light Brigade. I mean the 1968 one, with Sir John Gielgud. Some great scenes in that. And I mean for comedy value rather than action. Waussians. Mmm Waussians.

Watched Alien last night, might do Aliens tonight.
How the Tom Hanks fan can claim he is great and leave out Philadelphia from his list is amazing. Not many films can educate and change your perception of things in a couple of hours. Guess I was a naive youngster who knew very little about Aids back then but it was an incredible performance by Hanks and a brilliant powerful film.

On my bucket list to one day visit the battlefields of Isandlwana & Rourke's drift... Bought the book "Rorkes's Drift" by Adrian Greaves last year, fascinating read and tells the true story of this epic enecounter.

I've never really liked Bond and didnt think Daniel Craig's PG Tips monkey / Sid James / Peter Reid face fit the role initially, but I really enjoyed Skyfall. Really really good stuff. I'm looking forward to the next one, Spectre!!
I like all sorts, depending on my mood I suppose...
Alien Blade Runner Seven Fight Club Slumdog Millionaire The Truman Show Drive North By Northwest Get Shorty The Rock
Are the first ten of my many many favourites that came into my mind.
I go to the Cinema quite a lot but only went to the OMH (Cinema in the square) for the first time in 2014. They may not show all the blockbusters or the latest date movie / chic flicks, but I found they offer a far more pleasant experience than Cineworld. I'd urge anyone to give it a go!
