Weekend just gone in Hertha Berlin vs Schalke 04 on the Saturday, then Union Berlin II vs Dynamo Berlin.
Amazing both experiences.
Heard Dortmund is over-rated, anyone any personal recomendations?

Went to cologne a couple of years ago. Great atmosphere (even though they were fighting relegation) and a really vibrant and lively city

Visit Bochum 2 years ago. Nice fans, great support, standing area in the Rhurstadion. You could even bring your pint and bratwurst into the stand. Just a great experience. Trams from Bochum Hbf to Rhurstadion.

Dorttmund is not a wasted experience.I went to see them play Bayern Munich and the packed North Tribune terrace and raucous atmosphere were incredible. The city itself isn't up to much, so would suggest you base yourself in somewhere like Dusseldorf or Cologne and train it.

How was Berlin? im over there for the game v Gladbach on May 4th. I have done quite a few German weekends, almost becoming a hobby. I follow Gladbach over there so done quite a few of their games, Camden mentioned staying in Dusseldorf, this is a great base for loads of grounds close by that give you free train travel in the VRR region, Schalke, Dortmund, BMG, Dusseldorf, Bochum & Duisburg with Leverkusen and Cologne in the next region, only costs about 5 euros to get to these. Register as a member (free) for the clubs and order match tickets before you go, so you then qualify for free transport, BUT HAVE THEM DELIVERED, DON'T PRINT AT HOME.

Berlin is a great City and always enjoyed games at Olympic Stadium even though it has running track

There is a new magazine out called Football Weekends.
Good read and photos. Issue 2 covers the Bundesliga.

Did Borussia Monchengladbach v Hoffenheim back in November after doing Ajax v Dordrecht the night before.
Would highly recommend if both sides are playing on the same weekend, only a three hour journey between the two grounds.
Unfortunately they sting non-Dutch people and only permit you to by official tickets at over inflated prices and stick you in the back row of the top tier. Not good for my vertigo. Cracking atmosphere though, at both grounds. Monchengladbach lay on a free coach from the train station and like ours is a little bit out of the way from the city centre but would highly recommend a trip. I managed to get a ticket off their website when it went on general sale for around $20. Arrived in the post the next working day which impressed me.

Total cost of the trip is less than ticket price of some games at Arsenal

Went to Leverkusen in 2005 with Liverpool then a couple of years ago for a Bundesliga game, great ground with a huge sort of beer garden area across the road, enjoy the day there.
