For those who don't have ShrewsPlayer, some very interesting points set out aside from the season ticket information in a great interview with MW. - Ticketing system to change - Print at home tickets with barcodes, season tickets to become cards. Will begin with them being scanned by someone at the turnstile for a couple of years before becoming fully automated.
- New shirt and training gear has already been ordered, will be available after the last game of the season.
- Stadium will be rebranded quickly with the new badge. RW is willing to invest to keep the stadium up to date.
- Darwin centre shop will open again, hopefully in a better location.
- Looking to have more nights like the darts on Friday.
- Club shop website will be improved, will be more user friendly.
- Looking to improve the match day experience.
We have a gem at this club!

Impressed with his football knowledge on the Radio Shropshire coverage of last nights game - not just a money man but it appears he knows the players very well to which bodes well

All good stuff though would love a social club or give fans access to the bar in the Arthur Rowley lounge.
Another thing he said was the financial lose that will be made again after relegation; and no standard late town goal will turn that lose around! - but it's Very important we get promoted and get big gates from big amount of away followers

I listened to Matt on radio Lancashire last night as they were covering the match as well, he was talking with passion about his time at Blackpool ,and how his wife is a two year season ticket holder , but she cannot bear to go with how they are playing at present. He went onto say that him and Micky are fully focused on building Shrewsbury to a championship club and how well they are supported by RW..

all the things said that make him a gem of a CEO, working closely with the chairman, well said Matt. not surprised about the Darwin shop re opening, especially if in a better position. wonder if they can sell season tickets there or vouchers for coming games.
I think the Club need to start taking orders for club shirts now, so they are aware of potential sales. I think the club will be pleasantly surprised. 1 large shirt please! finally would love more use of stadium and car park. there is scope for so much more income.

The guy also gets his 'hands dirty' and was helping out with giving tickets out before the home Wycombe game.
Great appointment.

Wonder what MM is doing to increase investment and recruiting new board members . RW and the small board appear happy to back the manager but how deep our their pockets?

Talking about things to happen, I would like for one of you guys, to investigate for me, why having sent emails to the Club Shop, requesting details of Match DVD's of price and matches, why I have never been replied to?? I know that New Zealand is far removed from UK, but we do have modern IT, along with a good cricket team! So would appreciate if one of you guys, could check this out for me? Thanks. Roy

Delayed response from me to the original post but have to say I was mightily impressed with all of the plans in place and how well Matt Williams spoke.
However, as has been the case in many of his interviews, it was touched on yet again about our significant losses last year and another big loss to come this year. I think my question is - when will all these changes pay dividends? When will we turn losses into profit? As good as it is to see, I don't see any hope of a turnaround in finances at all, if anything surely these improvements are yet more added cost with installation, maintenance etc.

Selling Woods and Goldson will get the club over £1.5 million which will make a huge difference. Collins,Demetriou,Grandison and a few others are young players with a bit of value too. If we start competing at a higher level then who knows how much income will rise. Losses aren't ideal but the fact is most football clubs these days make them and we are in a very stable position financially (own the stadium, good amount of cash at the bank etc)

Apart from the overuse of that horrible corporate word "solution", making the ticketing system easier for people is definitely a move in the right direction and Matt Williams is once again showing his worth to the club.
We need to remove as many of the barriers as possible preventing and discouraging people from attending. I think for too long there was an attitude of: "We've done you a favour of giving you a new stadium, now come along and don't complain."

Yes we do know what the shirt looks like and yes, we do know the supplier, but it is not for public consumption...yet. The problem the club has, which increasingly became apparent over the years at GM, is one of not being inclusive, or at least not succeeding in getting that message over.
can only speak of the days that I have been going down the Meadow and the time I was involved with the club, so we are talking 58/59 to present, but apart from the chosen few ie Directors, Club Secretary and the players, everyone bought into our club, you could be involved as much as you wanted to be.....joining the supporters club, helping to clear the pitch, sell programmes, waiting for hours at the players entrance, putting signs up in the pubs in town, having a beer with the players after a game in the Yorkshire or Three Fishes etc etc. Today everything is at arms length; the fans are not able, or allowed to engage normally with the club. it is the way society and business is today...corporate and uniform. Things like, for instance, a supporters bar at the ground rather than corporate sponsors lounges or areas you can only gain access to if you are a member of something, would make a great different..it would create an environment for the supporters that whilst located within the environs of the club, would be their own territory, just like it used to be at Rushden and Diamonds...there was a lot to admire about their set up. There are moves afoot that could, could, address the above, albeit from the private sector. I find Greenhous Meadow sterile and not something that I have any empathy or love of...i go there to watch my team play football and then I go home.

Why can't the shirt or supplier be revealed?
Are we going to be impressed? is it a big name?
How come we aren't choosing the kit design this year?

The first paragraph states 'The problem the club has, which increasingly became apparent over the years at GM, is one of not being inclusive', after saying ' Yes we do know what the shirt looks like and yes, we do know the supplier, but it is not for public consumption'. So they continue 'not being inclusive' despite the FP?? Why would any company wanting to supply a football club want a 'corporate agreement' to keep their identity secret from their future customers? I have no idea who the supplier is but would be surprised if it wasn't connected to the Blackpool supplier who MW has dealt with in the past - Just a guess. As for design I'd suggest Blue and Amber stripes would be the only 'popular' choice so why keep it a secret - again just a guess

Davy
I cant say anything further than Matt has said as we are privilege to a little more in the SP, but honestly its not STFC being a pain over this, contracts, legal issues all play a part in this sort of thing and unfortunately (more unfortunately for STFC than anyone!) - More detailed announcements will have to wait.
its worth the wait though IMO.

There will never be a supporters bar at the ground, it will lose money. Rushden and Diamonds, what a poor example to use, where are they now?
