After yesterday's terrible game and atmosphere, surely its time for attitudes of our fans at our ground to change once and for all. The truth is when the chips are down our support is terrible we are no 12th man. As many have said we got no home end, our supposedly most vocal of fans stuck in one corner, some more interested in what away fans are doing when the team plays poor than being the 12th man sucking a goal in or two. Obviously its too late this season to change anything but next season with season tickets just going on sale we could. The idea should be create a kop end type feel in the South Stand, get it full, get it rocking. To do this I suggest close blocks 18 and 19. Only open them for big games and sell outs as over spill. Launch a re ticketing intiative for the South Stand starting on a certain date. Those that want a side view relocate to 17, 16, 15, 14 or 13. Theres plenty of empty seats and it will cut out any abusive heckling towards away fans. I know some people only go for the abusive banter at away fans, this doesn't help the team when it needs support. Project 12th man should be discussed seriously at a supporters parliament. Cons and pros need to be discussed about this with the club. At the moment its a pipe dream but it is the only way forward to improve matchday experiences. m.facebook.com/groups/2220170777?view=permalink&id=10152673460400778

Why should I be punished and forced to move seats because the rest of the ground can't be bothered to make some noise?

Who's to say the atmosphere would improve if all the singers moved to the south stand? We're sleep/middle class Shrewsbury with a lot of children and old people who support us.
I used to get frustrated about the lack of atmosphere but I just accept its never gonna change so I am at peace with itthe GM will always be a ground where the away fans take centre stage providing they bring a reasonable amount and are up for singing.
Suggesting the south stand could be akin to a Kop is a lovely idea, but sadly a pipe dream for a club like us.

Not sure changing fans attitude is possible, we are what we are.

If Northampton had been playing as we did and then lost two pathetic goals then you can be garaunteed they would have been as quiet as a mouse . We were awful yesterday and no amount of singing would have improved things . It was only when Wildig came on did we have any Salop excitement !
The problem was not on the terraces but on the pitch.

Yes there is always to improve and clearly having the singers in 18/19 is not great but even in the South Stand you would still only have a small group of our fans trying to create an atmosphere. Sadly the majority of our crowd are only willing to open their mouths to berate their own players.

Well the place would be more atmospheric because people will be squashed together.

People are free to move where they want to. Can't really force people without defeating the object!

It's certainly good to see someone wanting to do something and improve things but best not to start by having a slight at others and alienating them when looking to bring people together...
