Pants. Too little too late. Handed over our unbeaten run with a whimper by the sounds of it.

Could have been worse today looking at the results.
It seems no-one wants to be champions!

Sounds as though Bobby Grant has been involved in most things since he came on. A return of form there would be most welcome. JLAA too. Width so important and we didn't have any until about 35 mins in

we pick ourselves up and onwards and upwards on Tuesday. Sadly "Cobblers on form" proved too true. thank goodness for results elsewhere. FS

Back to 3-5-2 on Tuesday. Gayle in on the right with Grando going back to the centre, Wildig (Lawrence if fit) Grant and Woods in midfield and JLAA and Collins up front.

awful. clueless tactics, the players was clueless about there roles. change it back to our best formation. bring Gayle or the Liverpool lad in. southern was awful. play the ball to Barnetts feet not his head.
disappointed, the last two games have me worried about Mellons tactical capabilities.

Back to 3-5-2 on Tuesday. Gayle in on the right with Grando going back to the centre, Wildig (Lawrence if fit) Grant and Woods in midfield and JLAA and Collins up front. My thoughts to. Been far too much tinkering with formations and players over the last few games, get back to the formation and tactics we know best and get back to passing the ball not lumping it up to immobile strikers Really concerned that we've changed our style of play and going too direct. need to retain possession and work the ball into good positions more Fortunately other sides are slipping up and allowing us to stay in the promotion spots but its covered up a loss of form on our part in the last 4-5 games

Universities fulfill multiple roles in society and one could argue that supplying graduates for private companies is not the primary one (making better citizens is, in my view, the key aim of humanities degrees). Students get many things out of their time at university: I'd like to think the vast majority of students who go to university come out better people and better citizens than when they went in. I can also see that many people do not make the most of their time at university, but that is hardly the fault of university staff.

Where does he appear on the Dean Peer scale of midfield talent (10 being Dean Peer himself)? God knows... He looks past it though.

Just realised, that's yet another time recently our defence has been caught napping on a set-piece. Stevenage, Southend and now Northampton.

Northampton looked a decent side to be fair . Two good goals , their free kick had us all ends up . We huffed and puffed and could have equalised just on half time , Collins a whisker away from getting a touch for a certain goal. Second half we played a lot of diagonal balls from right to left toward JL AA . Trouble is our balls into the box were poor and our shooting was p**s poor. You've got a chance if you hit the target but with shots flying over the bar you can forget it . Poor Southern seemed lost . I just hope the rest of the season doesn't see us revert to the bad old long ball game because we just can't play it , it doesn't suit us . Thought Ryan tried hard to get us on the front foot but we were lacking all over the pitch to be honest . Also thought Connor wasn't at his best , not his usual performance particularly with his passing . So, we have lost our home record. It could have gone against Southend and Stevenage but we at least lost to an in form good side like Northampton . Onward and Upward for the lads . We are still up there and who knows , this may just be the kick up the jacksy we need . I just hope Liam is back and fully fit for Tuesday because we certainly need his experience and drive . I'm certainly not going to panic , we are still well placed . What we don't want is some of the absolute s**te comments I heard in the South stand this afternoon - criminal in my view . We need all of us to pull together . Don't know why some f.ckwits bother going .

I'm generally not one to over-react but that was simply awful today. Not a single lesson has been learned from the Tranmere debacle last weekend.
Northampton were ok, but we've beaten far far better at home. 8th placed finish or a heavy first leg play-off defeat for them.
Barnett's performances in the last 2 games have been little short of disgraceful and has been a key figure in conceding two awful goals lately through slips/lack of effort - not looking like a good piece of business at all.
Feel sorry for Wildig, could surely not have been worse than any of the other three midfielders selected ahead of him today.
I thought we looked a lot better when we went 4-4-2 in second half. Given we don't really have the personnel to revert to 3-5-2 with our injury situation I hope we keep it simple at Accy on Tuesday. Lack of squad depth in wide areas is really telling.
Worried tonight.

Why , thank you young blade , a compliment indeed . I'm full of cold and coughing me guts up at this precise moment in time hence why I am sitting downstairs at this bloody hour inthe morning replying to your most kind comment in between sneezing and farting . So, with Town losing and me feeling like s**te I can look forward to England getting a right stuffing by the Irish later on today , just to make my week- end complete .

It was pointed out to me by Shropshire Tenor that we have struggled to find a system that works since the injuries to NKP and Weso. We have ground out results without playing well, but these past two results have been coming.
NKP was the calming influence at the back and the real leader, while Weso, in my opinion, is the best midfielder at the Club and the best we’ve had in a very long time.
We have been sussed by teams and what I notice now is how high up the pitch the opposition are playing which nullifies our passing from the back game. This is why we have been playing more of the long ball and this is probably why Barnett has been brought here. In the long term that could be a shrewd bit of business.
The opposition know that our normal starting 11 don’t have the pace to exploit the space made by the opposition playing further up the pitch. Maybe we need JLAA to start and let’s hope Mangan gets back ASAP.
Personally I’d drop Grandison. If he can’t fit into the two central positions then don’t play him at all. Defensively he’s all over the place at right – back/wing – back.
