they will extend badger culling over the rest of England, and will introduce a free vote on repealing fox hunting ban. I was never happy with the badger culling trial, and am happy that fox hunting has been cleaned up. at least fox earths are no longer stopped up or cubs dugout.
the hounds now follow a trail and if a fox is found it is now shot allegedly. personally I cannot see the tories getting beyond the largest party status and that foxes and badgers are safe for at least 5 more years,
it is rumoured the champion of the badger Rock Guitarist Dr Brian May of Queen may be standing for parliament

If the Tories win the election, I may well lose the will to live!! In the UK at least! It would certainly mean more of the same - bean-counting for the majority, snouts in the trough for the few. But they're a tough bunch - tough on the deficit (oops, missed their own targets by miles), tough on immigration (oops, missed their own targets by miles), the greenest government in history (erm, forgot to do anything about it once in power, fancy that). Back on topic, animal welfare is important in this country, to our credit. Nobody will ever convince me that hunting with hounds is justified and the badger cull doesn't seem to have been effective, despite what Owen Paterson might say. I'd consider supporting any party that gave an unequivocal commitment to shorten our winters by putting our clocks forward in February! Why we have to wait masochistically until the end of March is a mystery. Put Scotland in a different time zone if they don't like it!

If the Tories win the election, I may well lose the will to live!! Here's a nice thought , Tories and the swivel eyed loons forming a coalition government . It will never happen will it .? Eventually Mad Boris becoming Prime Minister . Another lovely thought don't you think. Two lovely thoughts to keep you warm at night mon.

We're quite rural and fox hunting is a "tradition" some may argue.
I absolutely loathe it, watching an animal get teared apart by a pack of dogs is just barbaric. It's not fair game and I hope it's not reintroduced.
I just hope the Tories don't get in again though for many other reasons

but fox hunting is still going on, all the hunts that met still meet and are more popular than ever as the pack of hounds still meet with the huntsmen, whipper in and master of foxhounds. they now chase an aniseed trail except the Beaufort hunt which chases a trail of fox urine.

No chance of the Conservatives winning a majority - not had that in 25 years and couldn't even manage a win when Labour "bankrupted" the country, started two illegal wars and left Gordon Brown in charge. Dave still had to ask Clegg to help him get into number 10
Might see them try and form a minority government though which could be massively entertaining, if not overly productive

Hopefully we will hear a lot less of Pratterson, now he's off Dave's Christmas card list.

Anyone think the Country would vote Ed Milliband to be PM? Only chance Labour have got is to change leader.
Ed Milliband is the Conservative Party's main weapon

I'll vote for the party that pledges protection for Hedgehogs, that will probably mean a Badger cull.

all 3 main party leaders are toxic north of the border after Septembers referendum. labour have 59 seats in Scotland and Nichola Sturgeon is on a roll and we could see 40 SNP MP's in Westminster propping up labour as biggest party. SNP would not support miliband for nothing, they will want Trident replacement scrapped and all nuke weapons and submarines south of the border.
Ukip may get 2 or 3 seats and lib dems about 30. IMO they have a sensible team of ministers and some sensible policies, though badly damaged by brave decision to go in with Tories.
why on earth did Lib Dems agree to £3.4bn NHS top down, rich tax rebate, Welfare cuts and Bedroom tax, all alien to their policies.

People ought to be showing the best PM since Thatcher (God rest her soul) a good deal more respect.
Unfortunately odds against to be the next PM, in what will be a classic case of not appreciating what you have until it's gone.

Says the individual beating the government with a stick over EU migration which is damn near impossible to control and not eliminating a deficit which the lunatic left-wing were against tackling from day one. Always makes me laugh when deranged socialists who wet their knickers over austerity now suddenly feel they can criticise because the government "weren't austere enough". Sillies.

The government has failed massively to meet its own targets. They're not my targets and I don't support them but, if you set yourself a target and then fail so dismally to meet it, you can't be judged a success can you? All the more damning when you fail by your own criteria, not those of your opponents. Nothing silly about that.

Quite an interesting article on the BBC website about how the immigration pledge Cameron made was an accident that somehow became policy bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-31638180Sadly all too many party pledges probably start the same way and are just there to appease the voters, with no chance of delivering them

Interesting news comment regarding EU referendum and UKIP being only party promising to leave. The news program stated that if we leave EU we are still part of the community (Iceland is in that zone) and still part of free movement of migrants, if we leave the community then we have to negotiate a new trade agreement to trade with Europe. The recent referendum that the Swiss held led to ineffective negotiations about a better trade agreement and they lost out. It seems that no matter what you think individually, we are far better off within Europe and controlling the benefits on offer in the UK.

Of course we can disagree happily, we're civilised chaps here. I'm not sure why pointing out that the government set itself targets and has failed to meet those targets requires any intellectual rigour though. Seems pretty straightforward, surely? You can agree to that and still argue that the government was right to have those targets in the first place (which would be wrong of course but then we'd have a real debate .... )

I am a tory through and through, Even some of the most ardent labour voters state that the 2 Ed's are unelectable, but here is the problem, a few Tories are deciding to go to UKIP, who have said, we are leaving Europe, not give a referendum, but were off.... That may be a decent vote in by elections, or as a protest vote to get them to pull the finger out.
So what is the alternative, because UKIP are music to Labours ears, as they will take votes of the Tories, the problem is the SNP, which is dangerous to all of everyone in the UK, but especially England. Sturgeon has made no bones about her dislike of the English.
There is no way, as long as I have a hole in my arse, will Labour get a majority vote, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Sturgeon will be deputy PM if there is a hung parliament, Milliband is already her lap dog. So if the Blue voters are thinking they will just give Dave a bloody nose by voting UKIP, really think about the repercussions. The alternative is very very scary
if I was Conservative leader at the moment, I would be setting in stone an October Referendum on Europe

Downie, I'm afraid you are wrong there maybe a few right wing ex Tories who will vote UKIP over Europe but Europe is not that important to the vast majority of the electorate. Far more important to most people is the standard of living, the NHS, and immigration. The electorate feel let down by Cameron, Osborne and May.
Labour may not get an overall majority but it is equally unlikely that the Tories will have a majority.

I agree with you, but unfortunately Cameron was the one who promised to reduce immigration to ten of thousands and asked the electorate to sack him if he failed. Well Cameron has failed over immigration and many other of his target policy.
