Very sad to hear this. I Think Geoff worked for Salop Area Health Auth .as it then was in their transport Dept. I also played against him in one match when he was player / manager for All Stretton in the Sunday League. He phoned me after the match to ask who our winger was who came on in the second half . It was Alan Cochrane who was on Towns books . Geoff was gutted because he knew Alan , in fact Alan had been his "understudy " at that time and Geoff hadn't recognised him . This was some years after Geoffs career with Town had finished . Geoff was a lovely bloke and my condolences go to his family .

Good player. Never let the club down. Has died far too young.

Sad news indeed. Condolences to his family and friends.
I recall him charging up and down the wing in the first couple if seasons that I started going regularly. Then played against him when he was playing for one of the Stretton teams, a real gentleman as I recall.

I have very fond memories of that 70s team with Geoff Morris, Tarbuck, Haywood, Bates, Irvine etc. Allegedly he fell out with manager Alan Durban in 1975 which curtailed his Town career. RIP Geoff.

Me and my Dad watched the Town draw 0 - 0 at Crewe on the Friday night and on the Saturday went to Wembly to see Villa beat Norwich 1 - 0 in the League Cup Final. Sat in front of us was Geoff Morris. That team was the embryonic beginning of our all conquering dynasty of the late seventies and eighties. RIP GM

I have to say I don't remember Geoff Morris charging up and down the wing, he wasn't blessed with any particular pace, but had ball skills similar to Trevor Meredith which meant he got into the area in total control of the ball and usually we got scoring opportunities; unlike, say, Alan Groves or Sammy Aiston, who would get down to the byeline or channels as we call them today, look up, and then struggle to think about what to do next. He was at some stage 'Morris the Milk' with a round in Bayston Hill. Similar to Jed Garbett as well, but obviously a much better player...I remember we didn't like him when he first came down the Meadow because he had come from Walsall, but his performances won us over...I also seem to remember he wasn't a regular, week in week out player.

Have the club said if their going to do something before or during the game tomorrow as a mark of respect, i.e. clap in the minute his shirt number was, etc?
