+2 getting the train to Fratton. Went to the Brewers Arms near the ground for drinks pre-match last time we were there - was a decent place with friendly enough home fans.

God, you must be Town's oldest fan if you have been following them away since 1910. 115 years takes a lot of beating. 105 years ?

Anyone know the best pubs near Portsmouth Harbour station? The Old Customs House and Still & West look good...

Blimey it's a fair wad by train and a 5 hour plus journey with 2 changes (only 1 via Newport Wales)

Anyone know the best pubs near Portsmouth Harbour station? The Old Customs House and Still & West look good... The Old Customs House is a very nice pub at Gunwharf Quays and is approx 5 minutes walk from Pompey Harbour station. Over at Old Portsmouth/Spice Island you have the Still & West which is almost opposite the Spice Island Inn. These 2 IMO are the 2 nicest pubs in Portsmouth. The are however 15 to 20 minutes walk from the same station. This area of Portsmouth is by far the nicest and there are lots of other small traditional pubs but you are pretty isolated so would either need to walk back to the station to jump on to Fratton or get a taxi to the ground.

Well going to Pompey tomorrow with Davycrocket his son and friend
Since 1910 in the 10 matches we have played at Pompey we have lost all the matches by at least a 2 goal margin (1 by 4-0, 1 by 4-1, 3 by 3-0, 2 by 3-1 and 3 by 2-0).
Even in their relegation seasons of 1977/78 and 2012/13.
Mortgagehound has been telling me all week we are heading for a sound beating and predicts gnashing of teeth on B&A about long ball tactics post match.......
Everyone else confident then
