Looking forward to this also as I live about half a mile from the away end these days.
The Good Companion is the best boozer for away fans and is the designated away fan pub from their days of large away followings.
For a night out head to Gunwharf Quays, best bet is to get the train from Fratton to Portsmouth Harbour, takes less than 10 minutes and they run very regularly. Southsea is the other option for good pubs and can be walked from the ground. I'd avoid the City Centre, usually pretty dead these days and is poor.

Nice one thanks for that do you know if it's true you can park overnight at the B+Q car park for free ? We're staying in the Ibis next to the ground and I believe the B+Q car park is opposite.

This will be our 11th visit since 1910. We have suffered defeat on every previous visit so anything from the game will be a bonus.

God, you must be Town's oldest fan if you have been following them away since 1910. 115 years takes a lot of beating.

If we get even a point I will truly believe promotion is on the cards.

The B&Q car park is opposite the Ibis (along with McDonald's, KFC, Topps Tiles etc). I don't think you'd have any problem parking there overnight and I don't think they have a barrier on the car park that they put across at night.

Just a nice trip along the coast from Hove. It will be a crucial match, so really looking forward to it. Will I be able to get postal tickets through Town's ticket office, as I want to be safely ensconced amongst our fans. I don't want to be amongst the Pompey crowd... and get a kicking... when I am unable to hide my delight as our third goal goes in!

Given our current form I would expect us to lose at Pompey so given the distance not sure yet if I will go to this game. Will see how the next few results pan out before making a decision!

Given our record against Pompey going back over 100 years I definitely expect a defeat................. We did beat Pompey 6-1 at Gay Meadow around 1977/78 when Bruce Hornsby scored a goal that wasn't. I also recall us beating them between Christmas and New Year at Gay Meadow around 1982/83ish by 2-0 in the old div 2 although I think they beat as 4-0 at Pompey!
