could have a match moved to the unholy hour of 6pm on a SUNDAY to avoid a clash with the Bescot Sunday market. I honestly thought someone was having me on when they told me. A true mark of quality of the town and its people if ever we needed reminding 178 poor souls made the trip from Gillingham for the occasion. At least they might have bagged themselves a few bargains, I heard they give you a great deal on lucky heather and pegs.

No. Bradshaw went off on 60 minutes with his ballet dancer's hamstring.Grimes came on in his place and scored their equaliser on 74 minutes, five minutes after Gills had taken tithe lead.

Is this a case of the club being driven by market forces!!!

The market is obviously more important in Walsall than the football club...........

I hope the JPT Final isn't on a Sunday, or there will be no bugger in the Walsall end.

Hi Walsall Fan in Peace.
Firstly congratulations on what has been a n excellent league 2 campaign thus far and let's hope it continues.
Just a point on this market business Gillingham were offered 6pm Sunday kick Off or 7.45pm on the Monday and chose the former.
We are always the butt of market jokes from yourselves, Albion , Dingles etc even after all this time, people scoff but it brings in a serious amount of money and one thing WFC are extremely good at is commercial activities and bringing in much needed funds.
Why more clubs do not follow suit is quite baffling.
P.s hope you get promoted and amazing how players i.e Bradshaw struggle at one club, finds another club and is an instant hit. Funny ole game.

Yeah, funny old game eh? How many 1st team appearance did Ryan Woods make for your lot? Good marketing by WFC?....lets all sit down an count the pennies made over the season when we eventually sell Woods off to a Premier League side for £££s. (West Ham reportedly offer us £750,000 plus a player on deadline day, but we turned them down)...how many loom bands and knocked off One Direction merchanise would you have to sell on a Sunday afternoon to recoup that much money?

Well you're a happy chappy aren't you?
Woods was released as a 15 yr old, how many 15 yr old's make first team appearance's?
Tom is a 22 year old who had previously struggled and seems to have found his feet with us.
I do not get you're point?
What if Tom continues to score goals at the rate that he is for the next 18 months and we sell him for £1.5million (just for arguments sake), would you then think that that was good business by Shrewsbury not to offer him a better contract? Tom's previous record suggested he did not deserve one just like what probably happened with Woods at the time, he did not progress enough for people to think he would make it at League 1 level.
These things happen in football.
Anyhow still hope you get promoted regardless of you're actual anger towards what was a genuine post.

To be fair Walsall do a pretty good job of staying solvent considering how many 'big' teams are in the same vicinity. When you consider the amount of so called bigger teams, with greater support that have gone into administration over the last 20 years or so it is refreshing to see clubs with limited support bases surviving and thriving. I'm no fan of the likes of Carlisle, Rochdale or either Bristol club, but these teams (like ourselves and Walsall) have managed somehow to stay solvent, while watching clubs like Southampton, Derby and Leeds having success after going into admin and no doubt leaving many small businesses bankrupt.
