Dead annoyed by this, all fixtures I plan to be at, but Tuesday nights don't have the same appeal or atmosphere as a Saturday. At least Tranmere is on the weekend!

Utterly ridiculous. The people who programme the computer to dish out the fixtures obviously have no knowledge of geography. One long distance one would be fine but Carlisle and Morecambe you couldn't make it up. I'm just amazed they didn't add Hartlepool And Plymouth into the mix.
I know there aren't too many near clubs this season but there are: Burton, Tranmere, Cheltenham ?any others.

If there is any reason behind it I guess they reason this by saying not many would make the trip anyway - there would be a bigger impact on attendance if they had a local derby in midweek rather than at the weekend.
I'm more likely to go to Tranmere at the weekend than during the week for example.
Midweek games are always going to get less support in the away end - fact of life; but I don't think we'd ever want to lose them. Whilst a pain in the arse if you travel everywhere, if they reason it out it is probably the best thing to do financially.

There was one season we played Bournemouth, Brighton, Gillingham, Hull and Swansea all away from home as night games

Used to love midweek games when I used to go several years ago, even away ones. Went to most far flung places for evening matches (including Carliar in arctic weather one February..................)

The Football league introduced a policy of 'local' games at weekends and long distance ones midweek last season. As darkshrew says, it's on the basis that a local midweeker would not attract as many away fans as a weekend one but a long distance midweeker would lose less. If that makes sense.

Remember going to Boston on Tuesday night a few years back - the journey back seemed endless.

Will be going to the Accrington and Bury games, can imagine a good away following for both those games.

Annoying thing is that these are all do-able on the train on a saturday, but you can't get back on a tuesday night
Will miss Carlisle but considering a stopover at Morecambe and hope someone else volunteers to drive for Accy and Bury, otherwise I will have to !

There's something abit special about a midweek away game and being amongst a small following, I'll be able to get time off work for Bury and Morecambe so not too bothered personally, looking forward to it.

Bury, Morecambe and Accy all fall into the 'medium distance' for away games for us don't they? Not local for sure but there are plenty of other further away destinations this season.

Bury aside, had the others been on a Saturday I would have definitely attended! Shame they don't do later trains...

Love away days in the North West so very dissapointed they put four of them on Tuesday nights this season! I was hoping to do all of them before the fixtures came out but I'll probably just do Bury now as I've booked time off work around that time.
