The Highways Agency website is not much help. The planned resurfacing at that location apparently took place in October and November last year.

Poor the Shropshire Star didn't include the dates as it's confusing about which weekend. Checked on Highways Agency website (who are doing the bridge repairs) but doesn't say about the weekend? "The A49 southbound will be closed between the junctions with the A489 and the A4117, due to roadworks, between 8 pm and 6 am, from 26 January 2015 to 30 January 2015." "The A49 northbound will be closed between the junctions with the A4117 and the A489, due to carriageway resurfacing, between 8 pm and 6 am, from 26 January 2015 to 30 January 2015." Scroll down to A49. www.highways.gov.uk/traffic-information/

To be honest if the road is closed it wouldn't be too difficult to get round it, but will add around ten to fifteen minutes to the journey.
