On the face of it, looks like a good time to play Newport. However, I suspect it'll be a pretty cagey affair; they may well set up to be solid and, after taking a point back from GM, they have showed they can do that. If Mangan's out for this one, it'll probably be tricky to win.

a draw will keep us in touch, but given their defence in last 2 games, I am hopeful of a win. I am expecting great things of pompey at wobblers, and burton may only nick a point at home to Bury. come on town, you could go top next Saturday evening.

Worth noting Newport haven't lost at home in the league since the opening day so we'd need to be on top of ur form to get the win so have to be happy with a draw 0-0 thriller with 900 from Salop (if not a sell out)

Bury, one of our afar off rivals won 1-0 at Accrington and move 3 points above stevo. Cambridge were held 1-1 at home by daggers and at present do not threaten town but still have a game in hand

Would be a real shame rather than a disaster to fall back because of poor away form again; we need to snap out of it.
If we are going to be in the automatic promotion spots at the end of the year then this is exactly the kind of match we need to win.
I'll go for 1-2 for town with Collins getting a brace.

It's the 4th best home team against the 15th best away team.
I'll be very pleased with a point.

Newport have won their last 4 home games and after 2 away defeats will be keen to not lose.
Given our away form a draw would be a good result, but we do need to start picking up away wins and there are more winnable away games coming up!

Apparently they strayed from their usual formation against Northampton and it backfired, they looked out of sorts. I'd expect them to return to their usual formation. This game won't be easy!

This will be a very tough match. I know that their defence has looked like a sieve in their last two games, but the fact is that they have continued last season's good form, and if they beat us on Saturday, there will be just one point between us... which makes it a game of equals.
It is frustrating to see us pull ourselves to the top, only to slip back out of the automatic promotion places after our travels. Although with a bit of luck this would not have been the case, as in almost every away trip, we have been the stronger side, despite the results.
With a little bit of luck we could get a 1-1 or even a 2-1 win... but my head says Newport 2 Shrews 1... which will be disappointing, but there will be easier away games to come.
I hope that AtchamJ and Shewsfan are right and I am wrong.
It will be interesting to compare Ryan Woods with teenager Regan Poole, who has just signed for Fulham, and has then been loaned back for the remainder of the season. As that was a bit of business that some were tipping for RW, we will see if Fulham have gone for the wrong one.

Hardly comparable to Woods whose stock will be much higher.
Regan Poole is a cheap low risk signing by Fulham to what Woods would be with little experience hence loaning him straight back to Newport for his development.
I am more interested in the League 1 striker they hope to sign in time to play us?

Town have created clear blue water recently, and although a draw would keep us in touch with the top, there are some awkward games for our rivals, particularly the wobblers.
some idiot from Devon suggested 500 fans would pile down the A49 to county. make that 1000, hopefully they will not be disappointed with enforced re tweaking of the team.
County concede 7 goals in last 2 games. Make that 10 Town. FS COYB

600 away tickets already sold plus tickets on sale on the day. forecast is good, snow flurries but windy and bitter cold. hopefully too windy for frost tonight.
if town win and pompey hold wobblers, town will go top, this could be a really tough away fixture, but having shipped 7 goals in 2 games, county will be plugging defence leaks. COYB FS Amwythig Am Byth.

Havn't seen the prog but I can imagine which comment it was - glad we did actually manage the win which was an awkward fixture that we needed if we were to get promoted this season
