I'm convinced after today that we're going to go up as champions. Nailed on IMO.
What I saw was a TEAM who want it as badly as we do. Ellis coming up to the crowd with outstretched fists. Lawrence (who could just be here on a jolly after being a 'Prem' player just a few years ago) running around the pitch on 80 mins like a 20 year old, Collins pumped, Woods (assumingly listening to the bosses half-time talk to get in the game) knocking the ball about in the 2nd half like he was two divisions above, Goldson behaving like captain elect (how good is he going to be?), and MOTM for me Cameron Gayle, who isn't the strongest player in the challenge but bloody hell he 's a good footballer and will be an asset to us even at a higher level.
On 20 mins I was worried. I was worried that the ref was going to succumb to Westley bulls**t. We lowered ourselves to his standard and played the game he wanted us to play. But we battled and had belief, class got on top, and for that I am really chuffed. Performance of the season for me in a difficult encounter.
Oh, and how we laughed at Westley at the final whistle. What a complete embarrassment. As if he was going to beat us at Greenhous Meadow!

In my opinion that was a brilliant battling performance by the town yesterday.

This squad is capable of going up as champions, however the away form needs to improve as from next week.

Yeah away form needs to improve, I believe that Southern coming in will really help our away form! Wouldn't be surprised if he starts next week!

A lot will depend on Mangan's fitness, whether we sign another striker or if Vernon/JLAA finally step up to the scoring plate. Technically we are the best team in the league but it is whether we can turn our superiority into goals particularly away from home. When Mangan has played we have a real cutting edge to go with our ability to control games. Without him we have had to rely pretty much on Collo. Think we will finish in top 3 either way but if we can resolve the second striker 'issue' one way or the other then we should be champions.
