Morecambe shot themselves in the foot. On occasions they caused us problems, but decided after a while that a point would be nice, and defended deeper with Ellison being the one left alone , wide right. After we scored they came forward and attacked, they had nothing to lose. If they had showed more going forward during the game they might just have got something, as it was they got what they deserved, **** ALL..

My view is that we take teams apart that try and take the game to us. You can watch the highlights here. The Shrimps looked a lot more dangerous on here than they did in the real game.

They fact there fans think they deserved a point is even more laughable after you learn we had 20 shots and 73% possession.

Morcambe were very ordinary and lacked any ideas going forward. Time wasting par excellence. I sat by the dugouts today and the amount of hassle, grief and abuse Ken McKenna was giving the linesman and Fourth Official right from the start was shocking. How he wasn't sent to the stands is beyond me. Saturday night I was out with Mike Harris (TNS owner) who has been a mate of mine for many years, and also Ken Mckenna! Ken mcenna had invited Mike as his guest to the game (TNS were not playing until 5pm), as they are friends from his time at TNS. Interesting what Ken had to say when I questioned him about Morecambes tactics...he likened it to a decent amateur boxer playing a heavyweight champion. He went on to say if they played an open game with the players morecambe had available they would have been thrashed, so the game plan was to break up play, defensive but organised with every gamesmanship trick in the book and hopefully try and snatch something on the counter attack, and as he said they nearly did with the one on one at the end of the first half and a chance near the end of the game. At the end of the game though all the players shook hands and have every respect for each other as they should and he has always got on well with Mickey Mellon and went on to show me some texts between them after the match! I responded to Ken Mckenna that they only recently beat luton 3-0 and he said Shrewsbury are easily the best team in League 2, are in a different league financially as well as on the pitch to Morecambe, and they were pleased with the effort by there team in nearly getting a result. Now you could say there is a "bit of buttering up" there but he clearly meant it as they have researched every team in League 2 by DVD and scouting, more than once this season so far! Also chatted about his days playing for Telford and their FA Cup 5th round game v Everton in the 1980's. Top top guy!

I remember Ken McKenna playing for Altrincham, he always had plenty to say for himself and was very popular with the Alty fans.
What is wrong with the pitch from the players' point of view?
