This is really great news and a huge debt of gratitude to those who have made it happen.
Agree it isn't the best design but at least it has the right elements and as Stuttgarter says it is base from which to work from and improve.
Be great to mark the first home game with the new badge in some way to celebrate its return. Thus should come from the fans rather than rely on the club as this is afterall a victory for 'fan power'.
Would love to have a large blue flag with classic Amber loggerheads on and the same design in reverse colours somewhere in the ground. In the sane way arsenal have the behind each goal.
Also be great to form the 'loggerhead legion' ultras style fan group to build on this moment and push for other chgs to improve the atmosphere and 'match day experience' Also need to develop a set of positive original club and player songs.

I'm very disappointed that ceejay has not paid the bet. Which charity is missing out? I believe KL8 selected Team CB - the Town fans who did a charity bike ride in aid of Melanoma UK after fellow Town fan Colin Bloomfield was sadly diagnosed with cancer - as the charity to benefit from the £150. Come on Clive, still time to pay up.

IMO this is an interim badge, before our full shield badge is restored with 3 loggerheads and a floreat salopia. in the meantime I pay tribute to Rowland, the Board and MW for listening to us and making our next shirts eminently saleable. good riddance to that Ruddy awful badge and welcome to an interim one. the battle is far from won but we are on the right track to commercial and common sense.

If he reneges on the payment, I don't see why such a worthy charity should suffer. I'll bet we can pay it for him. I'll do £20.00. If he fails to pay, we can call in any pledges, and perhaps hand over payment to the charity at half time during a match in the future. Perhaps this will encourage him to keep his word.

Frankly JT, he can sod off. If he made a bet in good faith he should pay up, never mind others pay it for him. If he doesn't pay let everyone know what kind of guy he really is.

And if we get to £150.00, it will show what kind of guys we are. Of course, we can take the moral high ground, but if we shame him into paying up, I'd prefer that option.
If I were sitting in the stand watching someone settle my bet because I didn't pay up, I'd be squirming on my seat a bit. Especially if someone pointed me out and said, "that's him that didn't pay".

[/quote][ That's all well and good, but I've no idea what he looks like! Can we have some posters made with his picture on, with "wanted, £150" printed underneath?

Superb news and an absolute victory for fan power at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. Well done to the Supporters' Parliament and the many, many people who backed this important moment in our club's history, heritage and identity. The likes of Mortgagehound and Fredintheshed might not like our new Loggerheads-based badge, but that's a bonus as far as I'm concerned. We fought the good fight, and won. I think unless you prove me wrong, that both of the aforementioned people have both been as consistent in there standing of the badge, which is not fussed either way as there were more pressing items need looking at, dont think that transcribes in to a clippy love in, but please don't let that distract you from having a dig. It was a sustained pro-clip art agenda from the pair of them, despite their later backtracking. Mortgagehound had a picture of the badge with "never give up" as his signature ffs.

I wanted the old shield back as much as the next man, but I absolutely love the new badge. Can't wait to start popping into the clubshop again.

Well done Roland - it takes a big man to change course. Shirt sales of some new blue and amber stripes next year will recoup the costs.
It would have been so easy to take off after the abuse and performances of last year - what a turnaround. Thank you for sticking with it.

He may have made the bet, more than anything else, or out of bravado, never realising that he would be expected to actually pay what is a significant amount. Now he is being ridiculed and made to look slightly stupid. Have it ever crossed your tiny minds that he does not have the money, especially at this time of year. Some of the comments on here about a bloke who is supposedly one of us leaves a lot to be desired. ****ing poor by many of you. He may pay at some stage, that's up to him, but he does' nt deserve to be hung out to dry by some whom I would expect more of.

Never gamble more than you are prepared to lose, if he pays, then fair do, if he does not, the man is a bounder and a cad, and deserves ridicule, and deserves to be hung out to dry!!

As Maggies mate says, don't gamble more than you can afford. If there has been a misunderstanding of some sort then he should man up and explain on here!

I'll match your £20 but only if the presentation is in ceejay's name whoever he may be with a full explanation as to why we've raised the money to replace Clive ***** reneged bet........ Wouldn't be so bad but he asked KL8 to confirm the bet was on

He may have made the bet, more than anything else, or out of bravado, never realising that he would be expected to actually pay what is a significant amount. Hi Billy, I understand your concerns but this wasn't an off-the-cuff 'banter' wager. It was a formal public bet - with specified terms and conditions - which has been discussed on numerous occasions since by both participants on this forum and even on Facebook. Clive lost this bet and should now be forthcoming with the cash for a worthy cause. In September, he even acknowledged defeat and posted 'I always honour my bets'. This was four months ago, so it's unsurprising that a few people have monitored this and began to ask questions! Perhaps Clive is waiting for the badge to be embroidered onto a shirt before he parts with the cash? A tenuous way of thinking (as the badge change has now been officially confirmed...) but perhaps he could post to confirm intentions. KTF

Like the new badge and a bonus it was the choice I voted for. Saying that it is likely it will be tweaked in the future and good to see "floreat Salopia".

To be honest, Geoff, I don't. We have a history of sin-eating in this neck of the woods.

As ceejay is one of us, I'm seriously thinking of paying the bet in full on his behalf.

I hope the new badge is given the same prominence as Clippy at Greenhaus Meadow. For the fans, It was rubbing it in a bit having 2 such large badges above the entrance, something I don't remember at the old ground. Also, the paint/plastic on the current ones is weathering and looking a bit shabby so good timing to remove/replace them.

when is the new loggerheads badge being adopted. is it officially now towns badge?
I would like to place on record my thanks to Rowland and his Root and Branch, as Mr Shrewsbury he must have been sickened by last season. to bring in MW and MM were 2 strokes of genius, and the continuity of Jacko as asst manager, another plus.
I certainly will be buying that leather wallet, the first of more purchases from the Club shop/s. I do hope a new shirt is on sale soon, as with so many refraining from buying clipart attire, the shop/s's tills could be busier than normal for most of 2015. I may not be able to get to many games but I can support the club shop.

Hold on our resident Chairman Roland Jong Un changes our identity to a piece of embarrassing crud without a flying fxxk for your opinions, thoughts or our history.
Then after finally understanding firstly it's amateurish and secondly the oiks in the stands really don't like it, he has decided to give 40% back and all of a sudden he's a great guy and we have a result....
Arse biscuits.....that design could have been drawn in the sand on a Spanish beach by a geriatric and his nurse....crud.
just saying....
