Did anyone catch the Blyth game last night? Great scenes! Anyway, several people I know were against the introduction of goal-line technology believing that without it makes the game more 'exciting.' What do other people think? I've always been in favour of using more technology in football and think they need to extend it to assisting linesmen with offsides. If anyone didn't see the controversial goal that was not given last night, follow this link - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30354483 With goal-line technology would Hartlepool have gone 2-1 up and seen the game out comfortably or do you think it was a good thing that it wasn't given so that a small club could have an opportunity at a dream fixture in the next round? It is a tricky one, great to see a lower league club progressing in the competition but also feel for Hartlepool a lot!

I thought Hartlepool unlucky not to have been awarded a goal. still no technology and no nearby 4th official play the whistle.

If League 2 had goal line technology, we'd have been promoted to league one in 2011 rather than 2012!

I have enjoyed both matches that the BBC have covered, 2 upsets in there. I don't think the whole of the ball was over, about 90% of it was. Paul Murray has now been sacked after that defeat - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30359229

Very difficult call to make last night without goaline technology. However if there had been gt and it had been a goal then Paul Murray may have still had a job to go to today. Shocking decision by Hartlepool board after such a short time I post.

I don't think the whole of the ball was over the whole of the line, can't blame the linesman, we've seen it from a lot of angles in slow motion and are still not 100% sure.

I know I'm in the minority but I'm against it. I just think that these goals or non goals all contribute to the football fans debate, the Wycombe goal against us, Frank lampard against Germany. Imagine how boring it would be if all these controversys were just straight forward yes or no's. That's just my opinion but technology takes away from being a football fan!

And I for one agree with you. Time and again people have bemoaned the "Wycombe goal". whilst it's true those two dropped points cost us promotion there was plenty of time on plenty of occasions to put that wrong right. It's a simpler argument if it was the last game of the season with Town needing a win not a draw to go up. Other than that, I want refs and linesmen to make mistakes. That human element makes the game what it is. I want reasons to get up and shout and swear at the ref, Allah knows the number of utterly dull boring games that have been slightly less so by a shat decision by the ref that has sparked the crowd and team into life. So you can keep your technology. Footballs fine how it is.

I would be much happier as a fan knowing that a legitimate goal had been awarded as such. There's nothing worse when it isn't, and rather than it adding to any entertainment factor it actually does the opposite and makes you feel cheated and p*ssed off.

Do you think he had a small wager on him getting the job?
