Desparate times require desparate measures . Think back to last season and our wonderful selection of useless s**te . Its a condition also known as " clutching at straws " very prevalent in football these days.

Only a 2 month contract, obviously the best they can do in the loan market.

Just out of interest, what has happened at Tranmere? Were they down to struggle this season? Did the bookies have them down for a relegation scrap? Or just one of those seasons where whatever could go wrong, has gone wrong. Did anyone see this coming?

I thought Tranmere would be fine and when they played us we absolutely got out of jail.
Their lad who was the best player on the pitch didn't seem to start the other night.

Mad Joe is spoilt for choice, there are two stores on the Wirral and one in Speke. He will be like a kid in a sweet shop.

Or just one of those seasons where whatever could go wrong, has gone wrong. Did anyone see this coming? My understanding of it, from my Rovers supporting brothers, is that the former Chairman Peter Robinson loaned a serious amount of money in order for them to achieve and then stay in The Championship. If you consider the calibre of players that they attacted in those days, Aldridge, Pat Nevin, Eric Nixon etc etc, you can understand why additional funds where needed when they had average gates of about 8,000. They obviously had a period of success tied in with it all, twice getting into the Championship Play Offs ( Tranmere in the Premiership !..now that would have been a laugh ) and also getting to a League Cup Final at Wembley where they lost to Leicester 2-1. However all good things come to an end and Robinson slowly started taking his money back, which clearly resulted in lower budgets, players leaving, relegation, lower gates, lower expectations, relegation etc and then round the circle again. TBF to Robinson he didn't just quit and demand his money back, thereby throwing the club into financial turmoil and probable administration, but went about his financial withdrawal over a decade culminating in him selling up recently to Mark Palios, ex Chairman of The F.A ( I think ?) and a former Tranmere player. To me Tranmere have always been a L2 club, they just went through a totally surreal 20 year period when they punched well above their weight because of one mans ambition, and when that didn't quite happen they have slowly returned to their natural level

Interesting summing up gps - when I was first watching football Tranmere were always a struggling level 4 club playing to lowly gates on a Friday evening at a bit of a ramshackle ground.
I guess it just shows that money won't buy sustained success at any lower level club as many have found out to even greater cost over the last few years

We got out of jail after totally dominating after they had scored. They came to stifle and frustrate ( a common theme this season) but I wasn't very impressed. That said I didn't expect them to struggle as badly as they have thus far. I do think they will be OK, Adams will sort them out, but their plan to get back up will probably be put back a year.
