Chanting at someone that's ill on a stretcher is disgraceful. How that is more acceptable than the apparent racist chants I'll never know.
I am not 100% on what the chant was so I won't post it but I bet you could imagine what kind of chant it was.
I don't blame his lad for charging up the away stand trying to get at them.
I will add it wasn't the majority of their fans.

Forming a comparison between racial abuse and chanting at someone on a stretcher is a strange one. Both are incredibly low however.
Most importantly, is the person okay? What happened?

Don't have a clue what was going on
711 is a fair effort given the circumstances for them. Vocally decent too, though they dished out the usually predictable songs
Best song of the night were from our lot, some good banter between both sets of fans.
If I lived in Walsall, I'd never go back!!!

Of course it is low and very distasteful but so is racism.
And I am sure, like most Salop fans did with the racism, the decent Walsall fans would say the same.
No room for anything like that in our game.
Anyway, who is off to Preston?

Anyway, who is off to Preston? Och Aye!! Felt a bit deflated when the draw was made but the way we are going at the moment I really think we could get something so I will hopefully be there.

Of course it is low to sing about a chap on a stretcher.
But I don't fancy going to Preston with chants about the Taliban, Passports and Shrewsbury having no mosques either.
In both cases it was probably less than half a dozen people but it does rather make you wonder which century these people were dragged up from. That's probably doing the dark ages a disservice to be honest.

They made more noise here than at the biscuit tin a few weeks back. Saw one get chucked out. Could have been a few more but the stewards got soft.

What has this got to do with football??? "Walsall Fans" Walsall - A football club who played our beloved Shrewsbury tonight. Fans - The one thing football could not do without.

What has this got to do with football??? More than most of AJ or Rodgersons threads... At least it's stuff that happened at a game. I saw the lad run up the steps to get at the Walsall fans but didnt realise what was going on at the time. I wonder what'll happen? Surely they can't ban him?

Are all Salop fans 'nobodies' to you then, or just this lad whose father was being abused while getting medical attention? Who knows how anyone would react in a similar situation?

Putting two an two together, I take it this was related to the medical incident?

Being unwell, I wasn't there last night but it would seem that this was an incident outside of the normal and as has been said elsewhere a procedure that needs investigating and improved.
However, those dealing with it would never have assumed that some numpties in the away end could be so crass and who knows what someone might do if their relative was the butt of stupid comments.
Looking at the Walsall site, it would seem that the majority are like us, normal, decent people who like supporting their local team. Joking about gyppos, etc., is fine if that's all it is - a joke. But when something serious happens then all normal people should pull together. Anyone who doesn't isn't worth tuppence.
Hope whoever it was is Ok now.

It has nothing to do with being a Salop fan. It has to do with behaving appropriately regardless of the club you are supporting. Doing whatever he did to whoevers fans isn't helping anyone, most of all his Dad.

Well I certainly didn't know the two incidents were related. I can understand why the lad lost his head - pitty the Walsall fans who retaliated and ran down the steps didn't get dealt with either.

Below the belt stuff from the Walsall fans concerned. Can't blame the lad for his reaction.
But why wasn't the stretcher taken out in he corner between North and East Stands, isn't that where there normally is an Ambulance?

Fair comments on here and on the Walsall forum. You just never know what you'd do in a situation like that. You might be completely oblivious to it, you might lose your head. It's a fine line IMO.
One question I would ask is whether it was right to stretcher this person through the away end. It would be nice to think that all football fans would behave respectfully but unfortunately we know that isn't always the case so the question has to be whether the 'arrangement' was correct.
Ambulance driven to the corner between 19 and North stand maybe?
