Really, really like the look of this mon. From the minute he came into the team at Hartlepool he has looked calm, accomplished and just oozing class. Far too good for League 2 and us but long may he continue to grace The Meadow pitch.
Dont know how we got him, nor how long we can keep him but just enjoy whilst he's here.

Agree with Jamo, he is a class act for such a young lad. I hope we can keep him until the end of the season, he could make the difference for us. He has great vision, pace and seems to fit into the 3-5-2 perfectly.

My Fulham supporting colleagues want him back.Apparently RB is one of their weaker areas at the moment.

Saw a Fulham club car in the car park so they are clearly keeping close tabs on him
Really suits the 3-5-2 formation well and a good asset going forward. Only thing is (Chelsea excepted) I don't think we have seen him up against a really decent wide player to see how he copes defensively. Be great to see him stop all season though
Same goes for Grant. With the mess Blackpool are in and the progress Grant is making can see them recalling him to play in their first team

I agree he looks great going forward but I'm not sure he's been really tested defensively enough to give an accurate reading on how good a defender he is.

We'll miss him on Tuesday night. While I believe that Cameron Gayle has the potential to be a decent player he is nowhere near Jack Grimmer at the moment, either going forward or defensively.

Top class player. Great outlet on the right with pace. Hope we keep him for ages.

He was in my hairdressers yesterday saying that he wants to stay and he loves the atmospheres around the club and town.

Yes Grimmer did play at York because he was making his debut following his arrival on loan from Fulham. Which was not announced by the club until an hour before the game. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29580018

Two good loan signings in Grimmer and Grant, so much different to last seasons loanees and great to see that MM has chosen wisely.
But is Grimmer far too good for League Two? No.
The difference between any footballer from Premier to Sunday League is fitness, consistency, ability to 'listen' and desire. So many have the ability but throw it all way, so many have the talent 'on their day', so many have the ability but not the desire, so many have the ability but can't follow the managers instructions to play as team.
Grimmer is good but he's not 'on loan' for nothing.
Sigurdsson is the only one who seems to have bucked the STFC loanee trend and many on here thought he was too weak. Hopefully Grimmer will be decent for us but he's not 'far too good' for League 2 at this stage in his career.

Told by a Fulham supporter last night, that Fulham play a flat back four.
I believe we only got him because he had a speech impediment. While he was at Fulham, he couldn't say "we won."

Because they don't want him cup tied, that means they will more than likely want him back. Doubt we will get him beyond January, but would love to see it happening as he provides us with a class player in a key position for our formation and gives us a symmetry to Demetriou on the other wing.

I think he's a very, very good outlet. He must have put in about 15-20 crosses yesterday. If I was being picky his final ball can be a bit hit and miss, but he is a RB.

Have we ever had a player whose final ball wasn't a bit hit and miss!? Not sure such a player exists, even at higher levels (having just watched Belgium fail to score against Wales).

He struggled to get past a fairly mediocre full back yesterday.
He is a decent player certainly, but he's not exactly Cafu is he? He'll do for us mind, this season and next year in league one!

We haven't seen him much as a right back but as a wing back he does need to have a good delivery. You're right he wasted a couple of very good opportunities yesterday after getting behind the defence, but his pull back for Grant's goal was excellent. IMO he's a very good signing in a position where we were weak. We may not be able to prolong his stay beyond January but that doesn't mean he's too good for us...

Sorry Russ, the words Cameron Gayle & decent player would never appear in the same sentence for me. A luxury player who might give you some pace against a poor defence in the 80th min and that's it for me. Grimmer on the other hand is a class act and what we should expect at RB tbh

That is way harsh on Gayle.
He might not be as good as Grimmer, but he's a thoroughly decent player.

Grimmer has been fantastic. Nit-picking, I would suggest the only real weakness in our squad is the lack of depth in wide areas. If Grimmer is recalled, and/or Demetriou starts getting international call ups for Cyprus we'll be threadbare in the wing-back department.

Isn't Gayle a RB/CB?
Of course the modern full back is expected to get forward but to ask Gayle to bomb forward with the same effect that Grimmer does is a tall order.
It may actually suit us on Tuesday night that we have a more defensively minded player out wide vs opposition who will test us much more than L2 sides.
I personally was pleased with the acquisition of CG in the summer. Solid at this level but the current formation doesn't do him any favours.
