From Russia with love... It's arrived. The worst shirt in Shrewsbury Towns history is now in my collection

It always looks to me as if a child has coloured it in with felt tip pens!!

Was the shirt of my first season - I can still picture Mark Taylor, Dean Spink, etc., wearing it. So I have a soft spot for it whatever even if it has to be said it's not exactly the height of fashion and taste!!

Remember an rivals.net site refering to that shirt as "The Shrewsbury Paint Explosion: A Few Tins of Dulux and some cemtex and HEY PRESTO!" Ha ha!
Don't forget for sheer blandness and static electric shocks from the materials used, the 97/98 shirt is a real winner!

That’s the only Town shirt I ever bought.
You have to remember that back in the mid 90s these types of shirts were “in”.
Salop seemed (at last) very modern at the time.

My son wanted the red away shrews collection shirt made by MG sportswear, the club shop staff told me they were ordered but never came in, i phoned MG who confirmed there was no such order but the bloke i spoke to arranged for one to be made especially for him. i went there to pick it up and was only charged £35. Very good service.

That one!
I had that too, I had to order one in as well.
Ended up getting 'Hope 25' on the back!

I'm still a master of good taste. I wear that shirt with trousers with turn-ups when I go to the pub. I only have to walk into the room and the women start to scream.

So does anyone have the story behind this shirt? How we came to have it? Who made the decision? What was their reasoning behind it. Who thought it were a good idea? Considering its rank, like.

Fashions change - back in the early 90's most sides had a design (or 2) that are considered naff these days. From memory I think Salop only had this 'fashionable shirt' towards the end of time of such designs, by the time we ditched it (2 years only??) I think most clubs were moving away from this type of design
