Six months ago my support for the Town had fallen to it's lowest level ever after enduring 46 games of a team sleep walking to relegation and with little hope of things improving. Moving south I'd still support the team but would only see a handful of games and to be honest for the first time in 60 years it didn't bother me.
Six months down the track and once again I'm proud to be able to tell people I'm a Shrewsbury Town supporter in the land of Chelsea they may not know where our town is but they know we gave them a far harder game than some Premier teams.
Mickey what you have achieved is remarkable to sign 19 player and build a team that plays attractive, attacking, skilful football with pace and passion.
If the nucleus of this team is kept together and we have more cup runs to generate funds to tweak the team, just maybe the holy grail of Championship football can once more be achieved.
Today for the first time in the last 4 months I have a very small regret that I'm 200 miles away from Shrewsbury

I have had many an argument with you over the years Ed, but I am glad that your passion for STFC has returned. Top post.

I never stopped being proud to call myself a town fan - football is full of ups and downs.
That said it has been a very good start to the season!

Ant Pride like all emotion can't be quantified. I am sure that many life long fans, even maybe you, had an extra spring in their step this morning as they went into work this morning.
All being well I will be at Dagenham on Saturday hoping there is no hangover from last night I doubt Mickey will let any complacency set in. Unlikely but possible that come 5pm we could be sitting top of league division 2.

Absolutely I did. But increased pride this morning (& season thus far) didn't come from a position of no pride six months ago in our beloved club. Here's to 3 points come Saturday at 5pm...

However, despite the root and branch reforms, I still would like to know why things were allowed to slide so much during our time in Division 1.
It wasn't rocket science to realise that our mistakes during our 1st season in Division 1 should not have been repeated..yet they were!

Well that's blown it! Shrewed being optimistic has clearly doomed us to a ten match loosing streak and Mellon gone by Christmas
Last few months have made it good to be a Town fan but lots of work to do still. Arguably were in almost exactly the position we were after the Arsenal game a few seasons ago, a good league two side playing decent football and pushing for promotion
That went pear shaped a few seasons down the line. We can't afford to mess up again if we're serious about getting established in league one and masses of effort still needed behind the scenes to get the club where it should be

Just too much faith in GT I'm afraid. Understandable given that he had achieved promotion in an unbeaten at home season and then secured survival in out first year back in League One.
Not rocket science no, but understandable IMO. Given the time again I am sure Roland wouldn't have shown so much faith but what it means for the future is that it's lesson learnt and I doubt Roland will make the same mistake again.

By the way, has anyone heard anything about GT since he left?
I'd heard a rumour that he hasn't been too well but it's no more than hearsay.
