Ok, so they've had a tough few days. More so here than at Glazier Utd. But I thought Jose looked a little rattled after the match. He was honest and complimentary, but also relieved and tired...? Apple cart rattled?

Apple cart rattled? Ooo I do hope so. Great for us if a league two team can rattle him. I don't know whether it was gamesmanship that made him make the substitution in added time or whether he really was worried (I would like to think the latter)!

I think morinhiho deserves credit for playing such a strong side.

I think morinhiho deserves credit for playing such a strong side. He deserves credit generally for how he conducted himself. Great photos on Twitter of him signing his portrait for the mascot.

He will be relieved this morning to still be in the cup and not have any injuries. I agree with him that they shouldn't have had to play Sunday/Tuesday. Ridiculous when Sky already had the United game on the Sunday and could have said Wednesday for this one which nobody would have minded, not a great way to treat our Champions League sides, and we wonder why managers moan.

But as has been stated somewhere else, Sky put a lot of money into the Premier league and sadly he who pays the piper plays the tune. It's not like Chelsea haven't got a large squad to choose from after all.

For all their concerns about the schedule, no one seems to have noticed that our boys have played Saturday Tuesday for the last fortnight with virtually an unchanged team.
That said, Chelsea went up in my estimations last night.

As mentioned above, the way they conducted themselves was a class act and showed us a great deal of respect.
Already held Jose in high regard but to hear him compliment our club was really something.

I thought he spoke very well. He didn't go overboard in praising us, which tends to be patronising, but saying that they expected a tough game and that's what they got and he was very pleased with his players - that's a real compliment to us.

No issue with Mourinho but tired of hearing about Chelsea's fixture list. So they played 3 games in a week - so did we and we didn't have the luxury of being able to rotate our squad. Most of our 11 last night played the full 90 in the previous games, unlike their team.
Doesn't matter that they played 2 days ago (to our 3 days) when only 4 of that team start the next game - and I doubt it would have been much different if we were playing tonight.
This special pleading by and for Premier League clubs is wearing very thin with me.

He's got every right to feel p**sed off with SKY's schedule. This is the second season in a row that they played Sunday & Tuesday on a League Cup week. If SKY want the top Club's to field it's strongest possible sides then why give them a reason not too? José Mourinho is one Manager who wants to win everything and will generally field the strongest side if it's in the best interests of their season. If we'd played them on Wednesday it's likely the 1ST XI would have been even stronger.

When the best manager in the world says to Mellon "we know you're good, it's going to be a tough game for us" it's a massive compliment.
Mourinho has my maximum respect for picking a very strong side last night. I think he would have liked to have given his youngsters on the bench a chance but the way we were playing led to him bringing on Willian,Matic and Hazard.
Proud to have Mellon as manager too, hope he is here for many years.

Think he goes over the top sometimes with his comments, but when it comes to cup competitions I think he is one of the better managers for respecting the English lower league set up, including the fans and players of those sides
Know he worked with Bobby Robson's early in his career and maybe a bit of his knowledge about English pyramid system has rubbed off on him

He is a Manager who will put his own reputation out for questioning if it's of benefit to his team. He doesn't care if what he says makes him look like an arse or upsets anyone so long as it takes pressure of his squad and places it on Arsene Wenger. It obviously works he even managed to put the pressure on to poor TV scheduling for the close game, while praising us and his own team as well. The very best Managers not only have Trophies to prove it but they will have taught and helped others to become good Managers as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Managers that were his former Coaches, Assistants and Players are now outnumbering Fergies in the top job's.

With the unbeaten record still standing he wouldn't have wanted to lose it to Shrewsbury. He's good, they are good, but we had them rattled.
Hope he goes back thinking that one or two of their lower ranked players could benefit from a spell with Mellon.

Can't fault Jose, class act.
I never expected that team for starters, especially Oscar, and Cahill at the back. I thought he'd go with Drogba last week but with Costa still out injured I thought he might have saved Drogba's ageing legs for QPR (although it looks like Costa will be fit now). Bringing on Willian, Matic and Hazard showed us enormous respect for the way we had played in the game.
He wasn't taking nothing for granted, saw that his team was in a bit of trouble and did what he had to do as a manager, treating us in the same way as any club who opposed him. It also showed respect to the competition and towards the winning mentality needed for any sportsman.
I'm sure Chelsea fans will be asking the 'Shrewsbury question' if they lose to QPR on Saturday, especially if Costa is still injured and Drogba has to play again. But along with our brilliant players, and the club performance over the last few weeks he comes out with a lot of credit, as do some of his players.

I thought Jose was respectful and honest.
I thought Mellon was an absolute legend.
