Will always remember that memorable moment sitting in front of the TV watching them opening Live Aid on the 13th July 1985.

Had the privilege of being at The Roundhouse on Wednesday. Life long Quo fan and have seen many of their greatest moments but that was up there with the best. A.J, that red button has remained on in our household for 24hrs, shame we can’t record it but I’m assuming Mr Rossi has a Christmas DVD in mind.

repeated for a couple of hours Repeated for 40 years more like. Right up there with The Rolling Stones for taking money under false pretences Found a winning formula and stuck to it more like !...no harm in that, they have never pretended to be anything other than what they are. Not the greatest musicians but never became pretencious ( sp?) like others of their generation ( ELP, Yes,Genesis with Gabriel what the heck where they all about ) As Chaddyshrew posted ,the opening to Live Aid with the piano intro and then straight into unadulterated 12 bar boogie guitar of "Rockin' all over the World" the crowd with them from the first chord is one of rocks greatest moments of all time

Im no 60 year old Rocker, more of your 40 something indie kid but I've always felt people who label Status Quo as a bit of a one dimensional band are just pandering to a musical misconception that seems to have been doing the rounds for years.
On all their albums, (at least all the ones ive got) you will a plethora of tracks that will challenge this misconception, many with the obligatory amazing guitar riff which cover a far greater musical diversity than half the s**te modern musicians serve up which just completely undermines this myth that they are just some 4 cord obsessed band with a penchant for repetition. Check out Forty five hundred times off the album "Hello", Slow train off "Quo" or a year from "Piledriver", they may surprise you.
That said, a lot of their stuff is based on a tried and tested formula but as many other posters have already mentioned...whats wrong with that? Usually when a band reinvents itself, they go all s**te...look at Radiohead post Ok Computer.

Came from Dubai to see the original frantic four supported by Wilko at Wolves Civic earlier this year. Thought it would be the last time for both acts for different reasons. Thankfully Wilko has made a complete recovery from cancer. The albums Quo made up to never too late are class. Big fat mama from piledriver and the whole of Quo and Quo live are heavy rock. The 3 chord thing is a gimmick they have gone along with strange as it seems. The problem is they were so naff in the mid eighties onwards. Just out of interest saw Sabbath in Abu Dhabi this year. They opened with war pigs. The Arabs around me went understandably crazy as did I and security came in and told them to calm down. Only in the UAE would this happen. I am in Manila now which unlike Dubai has no British influence but after 50 years of USA rule the gigs so far are very american. A double header with the singers from toto and chicago anyone or how about Christopher Cross live. Err no thanks. The radio also seems to play the carpenters and i cant fight this feeling by Reo Speedwagon every hour. However there is a bar 10 minutes walk from my condo which to you and me is a flat which will be showing the Chelsea game kicking off at 3am as its open 24 hours. Looking forward to the words Shrewsbury Town appearing on the blackboard for forthcoming events where we will be rubbing shoulders with aussie rules and American football.

Andy Bown, been with Quo since 1977 and has played with other 3 chord specialists such as Peter Frampton and Pink Floyd.
