That's pretty much the whole story.

I know Mellon has said their Shrewsbury careers aren't over - look at what happened to Goldson when he was farmed out to Cheltenham - but the fact they are not featuring at all and we have so many midfield options means this is a distinct possibility.
If that is the case, then I'd be particularly irked about Wildig who has a lot of ability and could alternate with Lawrence as the attacking midfielder in a 3-5-2. I'd certainly choose him over both Clark and Griffiths.

Raises again the question as to why we brought in Griffith. Macca is a similar player to Griffith (but better) and can do the physical stuff that MM claims Griffith can produce. Wildig on the other hand is potentially a younger version of Lawrence and should be on the bench and starting to get some game time. Very disappointed about Wildig in particular.

Both are clearly not going to be picked by Mellon unless something changes. This could help change things for them. Good time to go somewhere and play in their first team but I hope they get a chance with us again.

I wonder if wildig was in MM'S plans pre-season because if I remember right wildig was offered a deal triggered by number of appearances last season - before MM arrived.
Therefore wonder if MM would of wanted him regardless?

Misjudgement by MM regarding Wildig and signing Carthorse Griffiths from evidence of what time has been spent on the pitch!

I'd be amazed if someone didn't snap up Wildig, unless we're asking for them to pay his full wages and the other clubs refuse, there's no reason he couldn't do a job somewhere, maybe even the division above!

Let's hope that both get some decent game time away from the GM and prove a point or two to the manager. They are still our players and hopefully will prove, like Connor has done that they have a future with us.

Think Wildig is just what we've been missing in away games. His movement and goal against Oldham away last season is exactly what we've been missing from our midfield.

My 1st dig at Mellon in his tenure so far what the FCUK are you doing bringing in the likes of GRIFWIF who is Donkey fodder and letting 1 of our best players in the club be available for loan. Woods needs resting and so does Wes, Mellon OUT.

Players that have been at the club some time become like clothes that have gone out of fashion, you leave them in the back of the wardrobe, only to buy some new but very similar clothes.

Popped upto Vauxhall Motors to watch the reserves v Tranmere yesterday and Wildig n Caton were the only two recognised first teamers had to admire the professionalism of both especially Aaron who showed glimpes of class at time ... both Wildig n Mac obviously not in Mellons plans and will probably see both leave in January ... still feel Aaron will make a very good league 2 player somewhere..

I can understand Mcallister , but come on wilding hasn't even had chance to butter the bread this season ! He's done well for us since he arrived deserves a start before being shipped out on loan his work rate on pitch is creditable but without being given a minute very harsh !

Actually think its good both are available for loan. As long as we have a recall on both
Long way to go in the season and think both need game time to get fit which they aren't getting at the moment. Month or so on loan will get them sharp and still available if needed - which will almost certainly happen as the season progresses and we get injuries and suspensions

I don't really see evidence for that. Goldson has been captain when LL is not playing, Woods has been played ahead of LL and Grandison has been recently played ahead of Gayle and Ellis. Lots of people want a big squad but then moan when their own particular favourite doesn't play. MM clearly has doubts about both their form and fitness compared with the numerous other central midfield players we have so, it's common sense as far as I'm concerned. GT got a lot of stick for his loan signings but it's ironic that the long 2 1/2 year contract he gave Macallister has turned out to be a bit of a car crash... he's never matched his efforts during his original loan. Both decent players at their best but we've seen far too little of that during their time with us and I now believe we have better players in their position (although I agree about Griffiths). Good luck to them if they are loaned out but I would be surprised if either have much influence on our season.

It's mentioned on the MM Interview thread as being something he said during the interview. People are starting to not believe anything on here unless the king of spam, aka shrewsfan, posts a link. Personally find the links quite useful, particularly if they relate to player ins and outs which can often be based on rumour. I was at the game on Saturday and what I found interesting was the fact that Lawrence's presence seemed to give Wesolowski the freedom and confidence to go forward, safe in the knowledge that someone would be filling in for him, rather than Lawrence being the furthest player forward. Certainly in the first half this fluidity didn't seem to be present. IMO Wildig is far more likely to be able to play a similar role over Clark so think it's an odd one to let him go on loan, especially with Lawrence's fitness concerns. Really don't understand why he hasn't had at least once chance ahead of Clark. We were absolutely dire during the first half.

Have to agree with some of the comments made. I to think the midfield this year is to strong for wildig and mac to have much of a impact. I am also baffled at the signing of Griffiths, surely wildig deserves a run before him

Was Woods in Mellon's plans back when he joined us as manager? Woods has done well to keep more expensive/experienced players out of the squad. Wildig is a good player and we need him in the squad, hopefully he'll prove himself and be back to fight for a place within a month.

Would like to see Wildig get a look in. When he wasn't injured, he was one of the few bright sparks last season.

He was poor in his first season with us looked good in a poor team last season and we have better players now. Get him out on loan so we ain't paying him to sit around then maybe get a decent Ish sum, if he is as good as half/most of you b&a idiots claim he is.

Surprised that ppl are comparing Wildig to Griff. Two different type of players, Griff is a defensive midfielder, break up play, lay it off, get stuck in, he's more like Mac tbh. Wildig is a clever pass player, good vision etc.
If it's a one month deal with a 24hr clause then it's great for them both in my opinion. Not many midfielders would get past Weso, Woods & Lawro in this division that's for sure.
