Another goal for Bradshaw at Walsall, fair play to the lad he's making a good go of things there.
Feel town need a spark to get them going seem a bit sluggish so far

Sounds pretty laboured in the 2nd half.
Collins off. Vincent on.

This game strikes me as it is in the mould of the Hartlepool game. A lot of the ball but no end product.....sitting here feeling like Southend will do us on the break.
Vincent on......missed who was coming off.

Akpo misses a big chance! He works very hard, and adds a lot to the side but on recent form he doesn't look like a goal scorer. Misses too many good chances

Must be a frustrating watch for the fans down there, certainly frustrating to listen to at the mo. What is it with our away performances?

Slow start. Defensive mistake. Can't score. Same old Shrewsbury away performance.

Too late for raising your game lads, should have been raising the level of urgency 30 minutes ago, not in injury time.

Akpo has had some chances and not scored recently.......all in all a very, very disappointing September regardless of the cup run.
Final Whistle blows.

5 point gap to the auto places now opened up. Still early days of course, but we need to pick up points on the road to ensure we are in the mix come the end of the season.

We only won 8 out of 23 away games last time we got promoted.
Needs addressing, our goals seemed to have dried up a bit recently.

I think that is 2 goals in seven games.

Mangan needs to start up top with Collins for me. Akpro-Akpo seems to find the positions but his end product is shocking.

Disappointing away day again. Doesn't sound like we played badly, but equally never a game we were in charge of.
Away form starting to become a concern as it puts a lot of pressure on us to win at home if we are to stay in the play off spot, never mind press for promotion places.

Very disappointing. Its all a bit baffling after the good form early season and in the cup.

Referee was an absolute joke . Doesn't explain the fact we lost but it didn't help . Our game is play from the back yet leutwiller booting every goal kick upfield what chance have you got sometimes as a striker ? We don't have the same enthusiasm in our game away . Can't believe refs get away with performances like that though . Scandal

Southend are a good team who will probably be battling for promotion at the end of the season so it's no disgrace to lose to them by a single goal.
Our team and squad are still gelling - 17 new players ! - as I have said before we will know more after Christmas whether MM has been successful in getting them to gel, but make no mistake. they are still going through that process. Home form is decent, but they are not doing it away from home for some reason, much of which appears to be historic as since the move we've rarely done that well away from home.
Not sure why that is? Simmo and GT never really sorted it and MM seems to have the same issues now.
Facilities too good/comfortable at home maybe? Travel arrangements not up to scratch? Whatever it is it's worth closer inspection and perhaps someone at the club should be looking more deeply at it.
Haven't we got some sort of analysts on board now? Not sure if they offer possible reasons and actions to go with it or whether they just report back to the club and somebody files them somewhere!

our league is bunching up. chelt. and argyle both lost, Exeter beat league leaders bury. the fact remains town are adrift through at least 5 games of not taking chances. town are slipping towards mediocre. we need back to back wins and soon. have we any untried strikers left who can make that difference.

If we're not gelling then we are not really helping ourselves of late by constantly switching formations. I'm all for having a plan B when necessary but what exactly is our plan A and is it good enough? Are we playing too much attention to the opposition rather than concentrating on what works best for our players?
