Just wondering with all the talk about tickets and the like as to whether anyone on here (and if you're looking to register and post on here then I reckon your more than your casual fan) has actually ever missed out on a Town match because they couldn't get sorted for a ticket?
Pretty sure everyone will get in and so no real need for anyone to be worried about missing out...

Very nearly, for the Liverpool FA cup game. We queued for hours from up the Wyle Kop, only to be turned away just yards from the ticket window. We lingered around near the office looking sad, and the chairman came out to chat with us and took our number and said he'd see what he could do. Didn't think anything would come of it, but he called us the next day to let us know he had some tickets for us. As it turned out, would have been better if he hadn't bothered!

The Liverpool farce was the nearest I came to missing out (still got a voucher) but Smithy got me one
Only time I failed to get into a game was Rushden & Diamonds away, when they refused to sell tickets and the gates were closed on us at about 2.50. We hung around a bit, heard the Town were losing and went for a pint. There were some arguments that day - I bet Alan Roberts remembered it

over 30 years going to 99% home games i missed out on a Chelsea Ticket last time after getting up early at 5am joining the rest of thousands left without a ticket. A friend who is a Everton fan comes with me on occasions and managed to get a ticket somehow? and being the friend he is he sold me the ticket true friend.

Yeah. The Everton game was the only home game I missed in the whole of the Ratcliffe relegation season.
I phoned up the club as soon as the tickets went on sale, to tell them that I was a member but not a ST holder (I couldn't afford the one-off lump payment for a ST, because I was a teenager), and I wanted to know when to start queuing.
They told me to turn up on the wrong day. As soon as I got past the Wakeman school and saw no-one around I had a bad feeling. Sure enough, the reason there were no crowds were because they'd long sold out.
Thankfully the club is about 10 times better organised now than it was back then!

Not for Salop, but for the 2004 Carling cup final I listened to the game whilst driving down to the south coast to start a new job on the Monday (game played on the Sunday).
I could have got a ticket, but my new employer wanted to meet and greet for dinner on the Sunday evening - gutted!
You may have seen my other posts on ticketing issues - hope to be sorted with 4 tickets for the Chelski game.
I am a Bolton fan by virtue of where I was born, and a Salop fan by choice of where I live!!!!!!! COYB

Dagenham as I left it to the old man to sort the tickets out. A couple of days after it had sold out he mentioned he had a holiday booked do wasn't going and as such didn't sort anything out. Happy days!

Liverpool in 1996 would have missed out despite having a voucher if it hadn't been for Chris Smith

Never, but to be fair our grandma used to live on Smithfield road up until the mid 90s and was in great health until her mid 80s and she was more than happy to take a walk down the ground at 6 in the morning and get our tickets on the few occasions we needed.. Beyond that, when I qualified as a registered nurse in the mid 90s one of the first things I did was invest in a season ticket and I've had one ever since. Missed loads of games over the years due to work commitments, but frankly, it's what makes me a better fan than the rest of you plebs!!!

Well when we played Wigan in 1994 I turned up a 2.55 and they said the ground was full, then somebody opened the emergency gate and I slipped em a fiver and walked in. Liverpool I missed in 96 even though i had voucher. Chelsea 03 ticket office shut with about 15 people in front if me. Thankfully Town player a the time Glenn Tolley got me a ticket.

Liverpool. Our fault though, we didn't get a superblues or fan club card that would have got us a ticket by all accounts.
