I know it's great to have the game at home and we have a remotely better chance, but if it'd been away we'd have made more on gates too.

We'll make more at the Etihad in the next round.

Just back from the States and it seems that there has been a few things happening since I left!
Had the misfortune to witness he debacle at Hartlepool so delighted to hear that things are on the up despite my growing fears about our away form.
Now got to sweat it out over tickets like many other far-flung Town fans! The game being on SKY is a great boost. Looks like the gamble the chairman made close season has thankfully paid off. The expected £400k deficit may not be as painful when the next accounts are released.

It would not have been live TV so I don't think we would have made more money! There were 46.5K at Arsenal at £10 a ticket if I remember rightly. We would have made around £200K from that tie. Think we could make a similar amount from this match too. TV money seems to be pitched anywhere between £75K-£100K for these ties and Town's share of gate receipts £70K-£90K depending on how's it's priced. Games like this always see more activity in the club shop which added to the progs and pies should see us coin in around £200K discounting police costs.

That'll be half term as well, so hopefully some younger fans will get to watch the game.

I'm surprised it's on the Tuesday, but pleasantly so. Chelsea have United away on the previous Sunday and will surely make 11 changes. Some might want the "privilege" of watching the likes of Hazard and Costa p**s all over us in the flesh, but personally I'd much rather see a competitive game!

Chelsea are the strongest squad IMO this season so I doubt they could really field a weak side. Chech, Obi Mikel, Drogba and Remy could play as they are on the fringes of the 1st 11. The odd thing about it being on Tuesday and not Wednesday is they have Man United (it's not as if they'll have anything on that mid-week) on the Sunday 4:00 PM before.

Should be a great pay day although no doubt the police costs will be through the roof again . Last time we played chelsea there were 250 police INSIDE the ground , and another 250 outside . If you thought the recent game v newport was overkill you ain't seen nothing yet !
