After two away defeats against teams we really should be picking up points against are we genuine contenders or also-rans?? Our away form's been pretty poor for years if we don't sort this out we've little chance of going up. Beginning to wonder if there's been an element of complacency against a couple of the less glamorous teams in the league. Time for Mr Mellon to start earning his money.

Didn't say it was disgraceful, the players and coaches need to wake up and start playing, not just think we can turn up and roll teams over. The last two results have not been good enough given the squad we have.

You don't think we turned up today? 60% possession and 16 shots suggests otherwise. Definitely need to take our chances going forward but harsh to say we didn't turn up.

Harsh words are often what's needed to motivate professional footballers. It's a simple game football, the team that puts the ball in the back of the net more often wins the game, statistics stand for very little. We've just lost two games against teams we should be taking points off. Let's not dress it up as anything more.

Let's not forget the squad is still gelling, we can get 'harsh' after Christmas if need be, but at the moment MM needs time and a bit of trust to turn them into promotional candidates. He's got that as far as I'm concerned as he's done brilliantly to assemble these players in such a short time.

Agree to some extent though they seemed to have gelled and have taken a backwards step recently. Also I'm not convinced he knows his best team, believe he made a mistake bringing Ellis back in when the defensive unit was beginning to look pretty solid. We need to kick on quickly and build some momentum.

Is this true, and you know how? We have lost two games in a row but had 34 shots in those games - there is clearly room for improvement but now is not the time to panic - keep building on the performances please Salop and let's get back to winning ways ASAP.

And perhaps an element of too high expectations by some who have only guesswork to go on before a season starts with many teams unrecognisable from previous seasons. How do you determine , particularly so early in the season the teams we "should be picking up points" against. The two teams you call "less glamorous" probably see us in the same light.

Yeah ok we've lost again . Be different tuesday though . Home game against a poor side. Mellon will probably make 4 or 5 changes and I think we will win . Still 7th so it's not all bad .

Ok, I stand by my comments but let's see how things develop.I think there's an element of blue tinted spectacles here. I'm neither calling for the managers head or predicting relegations simply suggesting we may not be as good as we think we are, the team and coaching staff need a kick up the backside to return us to winning ways.

As to the question promotion candidates, I would say if Town don't get a confidence boosting win on Tuesday then it will start to look if this season is going to be a struggle.

AJ's glass is more than half full. a cruel deflection robs us of at least a point, and our fire power up front should be capable of marmalising teams like stevo. 16 shots, some teams are going to face a hammering when we are BACK in gear, beginning on Tuesday.
please let us lose heart so early in the season. MMM are promo candidates, a little more team bonding and a goal fest will work wonders for morale and confidence.
MMM are a comparative young squad and the best is still to come.
yes Burton and Wobblers turned it on yesterday and we are 8 points off the lead, but we should make some progress in the next 2 home games, and the mouth salivates at smothering a quite in form Norwich City. Cheltenham lost, we are still in play off position just, but need to improve GD
a gentle bollocking on the coach back yesterday from MM to his M's may do wonders for Tuesday. what is needed is a little more backbone from supporters and a few stiff on target shots up front.
towels are there to dry off, not to be thrown in! Floreat Salopia. JFDI MMM!
CODES MMM Mickey Mellon's Marvels JFDI just effin do it!

Top 7 after 10 games would be a very decent start given the amount of new players recruited. In this division it's fairly easy to be 'playoff candidates', which by definition means in the mix for promotion, just by staying in and around the top half. With our squad we should be automatic candidates, so ideally we'd be top 5 by Xmas.

I think the real point is that this league is not going to be as easy for Town as some fans first thought. Also there have been plenty of clubs over the years that have put together great squads but that did not always bring success. I think MM is doing a great job but I think patience may be needed before we really begin to see the success we all hope for.

Haven't been to the last two games, but seems that we created a fair few chances and had pretty decent levels of possession
Probably just need to sharpen up the quality going into the box, and hoping the strikers will click and take the chances when they come.
Next two home games seem like a good chance to get back on track ahead of the Norwich game and two tough looking away trips

Long term I hope the last two games will be beneficial: they represent a dose of realism in what has been a very good start for a new squad. Time for Mellon to start proving himself at League level, a challenge I am sure he will relish and eventually succeed at.

Didn't Bristol Rovers have a terrible start to the campaign where they beat us in the PO final?? I I recall they lost 14 games that season but by April they put a superb run together (11 wins out 13 games) and the momentum took them over the line.
A lot of comparisons with that side at the time & ours, well known L2 players, big club at that level. Side needing to gel. Igoe was like Weso, Walker technically as good then as Collins, good players coming through.
I'm not panicking, a run of bad form early in season is accepted for a brand new team as long as we can get some back to back wins and can really click come turn of the year

The amount of players that arrived is going to take time for them to develop an understanding and you will never know if some ever will untill they have played 1/4 of the season at least that's before realising there is a new manager in charge with new ideas and methods. They appear talented enough and I will see a finish in the top seven as a good season and then modification/adjustments of the squad and steady progression. A couple of early defeats will provide far more answers than storming the league early and then suffering a never ending slump and could be beneficial in the long term There are Club's who will be at the top competing who have been in and around there for years Burton & Cheltenham may not sound glamorous but they have squads and Managers who have had time to know this division inside out. Even with generous amount of promotion places Clubs far bigger than us have struggled to get out of this division. There is no guarantee no matter how much you think we have spent. This is a long term project and too start moaning now is ridiculous and if your considering getting on the Players/Managers back this next week then I hope you don't mind a ''Shut the **** up t**t'' if you decide to complain loudly.
