Strange timing on the eve of a game. I think this is the season Stanley don't perform mission impossible and finially get relegated.

Agree that it is very strange times clunshrew. Six games in and on the night before a game. Still, suppose with only 4 points it is twitch bum time? story here: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29178841

Feel for him a tad because you do wonder whether people will appreciate the effort that he's put in there. Considering the resources available to any manager of Stanley it's a decent effort just to keep them competitive at this level. Hope he gets another chance at manager anyhows...

I have a ''soft spot'' for Stanley when ''doing the 92'' I often choose an Accrington Stanely match. Their supporters are a refreshing addition to the league, they have no airs and graces about where they should be and go to Football for the love of the game, there may not be many of them but they usually look to know how too have a good time without being knob heads. Many a time I have traveled with fans who will turn up on the day of the game and buy a ticket for the stand they feel like going in and not specifically the away end. Beattie may feel he can take a club that must me on the limits financially no further. Being an Ex-Premier he must be financially secure enough too take the risk of time out of the game or the Leeds job. But compared too Stanely's budget I'd expect the Carlisle job to be a step up. Any young ex-pro wishing to become a Manager could do far worse than ''learning the ropes'' at Stanley I'd put it before the Leeds job if I was in their Shoes.

How can you not appreciate what JB has done for Stanley he had faith in his players and the fans that follow ASFC. Its sad really i thought he was doing a cracking job on the reources he had to play with. You'l not meet a nicer bloke always had time to talk with you ...

Well I guess because plenty of people won't take time out to see what he has done there. You know what he is up against. I know it. Plenty of people who do follow football at our level will know too. But you do wonder whether others will see that he has moved on from Stanley, leaving them near the foot of the 4th division and won't see anything other than that. Unaware of just how tough a task it is with one of the smallest budgets about, with limited resources compared to most.
