Impressive result. As "Foxy" said "power to the people" - a quote for the older generation. ( Also known as Wolfie Smith.

Wow, well done all.
If the lads deliver on the pitch next summer could be huge for the club. Everyone celebrating promotion by spending in the club shop, everyone is a winner! COYB.

Well done to all who fought the good fight - particularly Geoff and Justin who led from the front and were uncompromising in their demands and unstinting in their efforts.

Should get the 77-78 umbro shirt with loggerhead badge re made to celebrate! Would be nice if we could get Umbro on board to produce a proper blue and amber striped shirt with the new loggerheads crest for us like they did in the late 70s/early 80s but I think the contract with Surridge expires at the end of next season? I'd say pay them off and get a decent kit manufacturer in, Puma are designing bespoke kits for Forest Green Rovers now so it can be done!

Excellent news. Well done to all involved on the SP, and to those involved at the club, especially the chairman.
Looking forward to a good design, and a shiny new kit next season. Blue and amber stripes with a loggerheads badge could be the best selling kit ever! Let's get it right STFC and think of the financial benefits!

rejoice the club has come to its senses and moved away from a terribly stupid decision that it has stuck to for 8 years.

Post by Bring Back The Loggerheads on Sept 10, 2014 21:40:24 GMT 1
An absolutely brilliant day to be a supporter of Shrewsbury Town FC. It is a undoubtedly a victory for our proud club’s history, heritage and identity.
Credit to the Supporters’ Parliament for being magnificent throughout. They have liaised with the club constantly over the past four months and achieved a unanimous vote result from a sample of nearly 25% of our average home attendance. No mean feat! Mike, Roger, Ollie and Glyn – we owe you all a pint. Fantastic stuff.
Respect to Matt Williams to being so receptive to a change of badge, and also a big Thank You to The Chairman for listening to supporters and making the decision we wanted so desperately. It might have taken seven years, but we will finally have our Loggerheads back. And not a day too soon.
The blue-and-amber messageboard was, of course, where the Bring Back The Loggerheads campaign first began in the form of Justin’s petition in May 2012. It quickly went viral – attracting a whopping 1300 signatures in only a matter of weeks – and the rest is history. We have since purchased t-shirts, stickers and flags and enjoyed support from literally hundreds of Town fans both online and in person.
It’s true that we have occasionally had our share of critics as a result of an unashamedly ‘no-nonsense’ approach to interacting with club apologists and their objectionable philosophy of ‘it’s only a badge’. We accept that we could have behaved more diplomatically at times; however the ends always justify the means. Everything we have ever said and done has been geared towards the removal of the clip art lion, and the return of the famous Loggerheads. This has now been achieved.
For the past two and a half years we have been Bring Back The Loggerheads. Today, we Brought Back The Loggerheads.
A sincere Thank You to everyone who supported us, and those who never surrendered.
Floreat Salopia.

Houston We have a problem. I have had occasion to write to the Star this morning in response to Matt Williams who is quoted as working on a design involving 3 Lions Heads and a Floreat Salopia. I have reminded him the campaign to restore our traditional badge of 3 loggerheads and an FS.
I have reminded him of a biological difference between a lion and a loggerhead (leopard). in my view the club has really responded well to that vote, but it would be a shame to see 1 lion replace by 3. we want our traditional badge, and any club designs of the new Crest/Badge need to be studied . if we are going down the 3 Lions Route, then count me in as the 1st objector!

Is anyone massively offended the club is wasting money on this rebranding when only the team is important?
That was a common critique of the campaign. Anyone holding that ground now?

Brilliant news and well done and thanks to everyone involved.
Strange thing happened this morning and honesty not prompted by me....but my 2yr daughter went to oyr bookcase and asked for the blue football book aka 'breath on em salop '. ...as if she wanted to read more about our history and heritage and see the loggerheads on show on the book. so proud!

Yes the campaigners deserve all the plaudits now the decision has been made.
Regarding the Chairman for a while I was one of his biggest critics but have to say that since May he has "played a Blinder" as Chairman!
Just need promotion now..........and chips!
