How good has this lad become?
I must admit I didn't think this lad would cut the mustard 12 or 18 months ago, but his reading of the game and application today again was fantastic.
I raised an eyebrow when there was talk of him going to Swansea or joining a club in a higher league as I honestly hadn't seen anything that justified that level of interest, but he looks to have grown both physically and in stature over the last few months and seems to get better everytime I see him.
His distribution today was fantastic. How good is it to see central defenders where every one of them is comfortable with the ball at their feet? A far cry from the pair of clowns we had in the same position last season.
I would go as far to say as Mellon might be regretting not giving Connor the armband permanently this season. A class act.

Totally agree about Connor. We will do well to keep him though.

I'm not cocky enough to say I toad ya so, but I said when GT loaned him out to Cheltenham, it was a big Miss Take, because if he works hard, he's a Championship player.
Any road up, I toad ya so.
I think an honourable mention must also go to Nat Knight-Percival. Absolute quality today.

Connor has a cracking attitude as well. It will serve him well. I suspect that if we do go up, we might get another year out of him but I can't see him sticking around much longer than that (unless we go back to the championship).
In fact, I'll go further than the miserable old bugger above me - I personally reckon he has the capacity to emulate someone like Ashley Williams, and rise up to the Premier League. He doesn't have any obvious weakness in his game and, at 21, he's only going to get better and better.

He was pure quality today as was Knight-Percival and Grandy

He is progressing superbly.
Looks good on the ball, good at defending and can play a pass.
He's also developing as a leader too - for the first time since Sharps left, it looks like we've got a proper captain
His one weakness is that he's regularly found from corners and despite winning the header hardly ever seems to trouble the keeper

I must admit I was one that was sceptical about him, partly because when his name is mentioned you could guarantee the Arsenal game would be brought up. However this season he has looked superb, obviously room for improvement but he looks a key player rather than a youngster trying to get experience

Always has had the look of a natural leader, and as sensationaljt said - unsure why we load him out, however it has helped him mature.
Gonna miss quite a few games this season as massive vet bills mean money needed elsewhere, but very positive start and looking forward to visiting deepdale on Tuesday
