He'd not heard of us playing that formation before... I think John needs to have a few strong words with his scouts

He was on the football league show a few weeks ago and named Northampton being up there at the end of the season
Really... we nearly beat them with 10 men
He never mentioned Shrewsbury... he might now!

Great bloke. Knew Luton were on to a winner when they took him on as boss after years of going for flash in the pan type characters like Buckle and Money.
His knowledge of the lower leagues is second to none, you wonder if he might fall victim of the unrealistic ambitions of a club that feel it is their divine right to be playing in a higher division and still consider themselves where they were in the 80's.
A very honest assessment.

Honest manager whose teams always play football and works wonders on a budget.
Football would not be in a mess if every manager was like him.

Perhaps the Football Leagues Shows love affair with Stills will now abate somewhat and he will stop being seen as some sort of lower league god. He knows his job but let's get real, he reached his level a few years ago.

Undoubtedly called it straight. No fudging over the 2nd goal or sending off.
Still obviously thought we'd set up 442 as we had in previous matches. Would have put our formation change at LC down to us attempting to stifle an EPL. Our formation caught many of us out too.
Still managed what many failed to do and took Luton back into the football league. Not surprised the media taking a shine to him.
When there is so much BS in football, even at this level what is there not to like?

He gave a fair assessment of the game, though very neutral on the subject of Town's quality. Did he think it was a matter that his team couldn't match our quality or that his team merely played badly on the day.
i was a bit surprised that he was talking about a good preparation but was unaware of our formation change in the week.
He's a good manager, although seems to have underestimated us.

Refreshingly honest and grounded in lower league football. Having said that, I wouldn't swap MM with anyone just now

He made Dagenham a league club and lifted Luton out of the Abyss.
He's succeeded with money and without

Of course the plan should be to make that statement redundant

Erm what? if he's on there it's probably because a. he's well respected and b. makes time for the media. how many other managers in division 2 have been around for anywhere near him?

He'd not heard of us playing that formation before... I think John needs to have a few strong words with his scouts We played it for the first time on tuesday night - against premier league opposition in a cup. It's not that unreasonable to think we might have reverted back to the way we'd played in the league games and that formation was just to cope with a higher standard of opposition ..

John Still delivering a 'half time assessment' whilst at Dagenham in the early 1990's, featuring two minutes of typical VHS football season compilation video music and strong language in his 'team talk'.
