OOH! OOH! Ha! Thanks, they look good, I'm gonna hunt them out. Maybe we'll get Forest away in the 4th round and I can try all 10 beers and then go on a drunken monkey rampage like here

Enjoyed pre-match 'sip' (designated driver) of MM barmy army during first trip to the Charles Darwin pub. Good football pub. Will go again!

....apart from one little gripe. Any chance that the football results screen can be shown until the evening match is shown ? Two reasons:
1. People can't hear the results of the other games inside the Greenhous Meadow 2. It's good to see the league tables if you're dong well/not so well 3. The sound is turned down in the Darwin so you can't hear the Nevillesque pre-match commentary anyway
Watching the scores from around the grounds is surely better than watching a silent pre-match commentary ?
Other than that, brilliant !

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Brooklands or the way its run, good beer, plenty of staff, great food and closer to the ground... Rob does a great job but the Brooklands is as good as its ever been yet not as busy due to past reputation, which is also good cos you can get served easily

As a critic of previous Brooklands regimes I really do think the current owners deserve some credit for making a real effort. Good choices of beer available, designated away bar for high profile games, good security and plenty of staff. One minor criticism is that twice now the new and purposely built outside bar has not been available which seems to me nonsensical. The Darwin is the wrong side if The Ground for me but I must try it out some day soon as I consistently hear good things about it

The CD is my pre match venue of choice simply due to the excellent work put in by Rob and his team who simply 'get it'.
Heartened however to hear that the Brooklands in is much better shape. Good news not only for fans coming from that side of town but for Town fans in general to have a viable choice of pre-post match pub.

I'm delighted to hear the Brooklands is on the up.
I used to go there. But then it went downhill. I might try it soon.

Ive never been a massive fan of the place (just havent taken to it) but been there a few times under the current landlord and its improved no end, he clearly knows how to run a pub and is making an effort. The problem for the Brooklands (apart from the previous landlord ruining it) is that it has a reputation as being more of an away fans pub and can be a flashpoint after matches, having police vans and lots of police stood outside like at the Tranmere game and yesterday hardly looks welcoming for passer-bys.

Nothing wrong wiv the Beeches either, and a top landlord in Nodder. So you lot keep town side, and leave the Bunkem Boys alone.

You can't have been in lately, cos the back garden area has had millions spent on it with a fancy wooden thing plus seats, and flowers and bushes all around. Too posh for us simple folk.

The management of the Brooklands have done a tremendous job in turning that pub around.
Where I live it’s 50/50 where I go, but when Rob left the Brooklands to go to Darwin (and turn that round) I followed.
So it’s the Darwin all the time for me and I recommend the free parking in the pub and the *ahem* free parking across the road....
What’s excellent about the Darwin is that it’s a genuinely family friendly pub and feels like the supporters bar we haven’t got.
When you visit for the first time you’ll know what I mean about the latter.

I dont get the chance to get a Pint pre game anymore and is the main thing I miss post Gay Meadow. But the Brooklands is alright if your playing ''Spot the undercover copper'' game.
