Liverpool at home if they field fringe 1st team players they also have some excellent young players coming through. Chelsea as they are one of the few ''big club's'' that play a strong squad and try to win all competitions even if they did field a 2nd team it would still be a very good one. Everton they are a Club who frequently slip up against lower league opposition Arsenal H or A although we've been there before they always attend in large numbers and a home game will certainly be a TV match so we cannot lose money wise. I also think we'd have good chance of beating Villa H or A .
Don't want Sheff United,Cardiff or MK Dons as they wouldn't attract anywhere near as much income or be a TV match. The further we go the bigger the better as Cup runs are rare the more we can earn from each match is a bonus.

Irritating that the competition is no longer seeded, so expect a Reading or Doncaster away tie.
You either want someone beatable at home such as maybe a Bolton or Leyton Orient, or you want one of the big guns Chelsea, Arsenal, City et al.
We've still never played Spurs in our 128 year history, definitely overdue a trip to White Hart Lane.

Always prefer away games so ideally anywhere within an hour or so from Notts would be great.
Failing that I'll take one of the "big teams" at home. Would imagine loyalties will be split should we draw Liverpool. What will patrons of 'The Peacock' do?

I'm guessing Spurs, along with Fleetwood and Forest, are the only 3 of the existing 92 that we have never played in a competitive game? Although our reserves regularly played Spurs in the Football Combination in the 1960's...

We have played United and Forest in friendlies of course, we have never played Fleetwood in any match of any kind as far as I'm aware and we havent played Spurs in any kind of match at first team level?

We're no 23. Chelski are 6, Arsenal 2, Liverpool 13 & Man City 14.

The young me would have said the lowest ranked team at home.
The current me wants Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs away. Basically anything that brings in the money and could see the club well set finance wise for the next couple of seasons.

Good post comrade. It's a shame Ronbond has blocked me. I have always valued his reasoned input into this forum and hoped I could develop an online friendship with him, possibly leading to meeting him socially and sharing some special times together.

Could be me being a clart, but isn't the current financial benefit from the League Cup fairly minimal?
Prize money is piddling in comparison to the FA Cup and half of the gate receipts from Leicester after costs deducted can't be much more than what we had to pay Aberystwyth for Bradshaw.
I certainly don't think a tie away at Chelsea, say, could set us up financially for a few seasons.

Villa or Baggies away would be nice. Handy for the majority and maybe even another shock.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City or Chelsea home or away would possibly bring TV revenue.
Palace, Norwich, QPR or Stoke at home would see us with a decent chance of progressing.
Any Premiership or Championship teams are going to be aware that we're up for this and would have to put their first XI out if they want to beat us.
There is no-one outside the top two divisions that we need to be scared of, in fact they should be scared of us scalping them.

A winnable tie at home, let's try and progress as far as possible, like Bradford did!

any of the big 'uns please!
1) Liverpool at home as my bro in block 19 would love that!
2) City , the homecoming of Hart
3) Everton, to ensue bragging rights for another couple of years!
4) any of the big london sides at home or away. Spurs would be a first! I may be on a break in the capital as ties commence on my week off so ...!
5) Newcastle Utd
6) Midlands giants, Villa or WBA
as to the rest... Read on here that Boro and Stoke are preferences and along with Derby we have played them already in recent years. Some fresh opposition please!
Worst draws ... Bournemouth, MKD, Cardiff, Reading

If we got a big team then we might also get the media

I certainly don't think a tie away at Chelsea, say, could set us up financially for a few seasons. Perhaps not - but you do get the impression that Mr Williams and co. would know how to commercially benefit from a decent draw - whether that's a home sell out or an big away trip. I imagine it would be merchandised, and hospitality provided etc which was in a different league to previous occasions.

My uncle who is in his 70s now is a life long QPR supporter and he's not keen on what's been happening over recent years. He hated their time in the Prem last time and preferred the Championship. I'm sure that some on here commented on meting Swansea fans on the train heading north and they said the same.
