Ross Stephens starting for the Seasiders (along with ex Tranmere and Grimsby forward Andy Parkinson ). Kevin McIntyre in the Nomads staring eleven. Always liked McIntyre as a player but thought Peters made an error in moving on Drummond to make way for him.

Always thought it was a choice between Drummond (He actually wanted to return to Morecambe-his wife was a teacher there I seem to remember) and Neil Sorvel. Anyway Peters had a habit of falling out with/moving on his captains. Tinson / Drummond / Hope.

Would Airbus ever significantly back the Football Team Wolfsburg style? In Andy Preece(on the Bookies list for us pre-Mellon)They probably have the best Manager in the league and maybe the team to challenge again this Season. Aber might be there boosted by Europa league money but playing in Newtown will prevent them lasting too the end. Bangor and Rhyl are the only club's with any resemblance of a decent support and should challenge more.
Untill the LOW adopts Summer football then it's never going to attract anything other than mediocre support when it's competing with Football League and Premier league club's within easy travelling distance. Pop to any Town with a LOW Club and there will be as many watching Soccer Saturday in the Pub then at the match. The News mentioned that the South East Wales and the Valleys Club's are choosing to stay where they are rather than promotion due to the travelling/Hotel costs of playing in a predominantly dominant North-Mid Wales league.Meaning that the biggest areas of population are not represented at all in the League. Is there a League in the World where the 10 biggest Towns have no representation in it's top division? Newtown,Aber and previously TNS are installing 3/4G pitches due too very large backing from business and/or UEFA to combat the Welsh Winter.Other Club's that cannot get such backing will have to cope with poor pitches and postponements, leading to a loss of revenue putting them at an even bigger disadvantage when competing against TNS. For the last 10-12 years I have been calling for the LOW to switch to a Summer league the Aber Chairman dismissed it when I discussed it with him(they are probably the only Club that will lose on the gate as they are well supported by Students)finally this Summer after the humiliation by Derry City they are coming around to my thinking. A Season starting in March and Ending early November with a 2 week break for European competition would mean: 1.Match fit squads for Europe with a greater chance of progression and prize money. 2.Better playing surfaces allowing better Football and negate the expense of converting to 3/4G less postponements means more Saturday games. 3.Larger crowds as the majority of the Season can be played on a Saturday afternoon during daylight with better weather the tourist with bored kids will find a cheap 2 hours of something to do,Away fans will find a July Saturday in Bala/Prestatyn more appealing than a January one. 4. Lack of Football League & Premier League competition could encourage those Club's in Cardiff,Swansea & Wrexham's catchment area too try and get into the league as I'm sure these Towns could support a LOW Club with bigger crowds than the Club's currently present. They could cash in on the surge gained off World Cup and European competitions before it tails off.
5. With quality improving increased success in Europe sponsorship and TV revenue will increase and invariably Attendances and create a ''Snowball affect''.
6. Ireland has shown how successful a Summer season can be and it's Club's improved European performances are evident. With Shamrock Rovers qualifying for the Europa League group stages with Spurs a few years ago.The LOW's is an embarrassment in Europe. There is only one thing currently that the LOW has in it's favour and that is the only League available on terrestrial TV at 3pm on a Saturday.Yet with the hopeless shambles that is S4C running it enjoy while it's their.
