Well I’m glad its got in the press but as usual its half a story, same on here. Yes a complaint was made, but from what I have herd on the old grapevine (it’s a small town you know) it from one someone called Tandy? A local politician? You know my interest in politics is almost nothing but looked him up and was shocked to see he’s not even a conservative! shropshire.gov.uk/committee-services/mgUserInfo.aspx?UID=81So if he’s your elected representative and you’re a town fan, I guess you’re in your rights to pass on your comments. Weird through as he’s a rep for Sutton Farm looking at it. The car park being open and stopping people parking around there would surely help his local residents. Maybe theres more too it. We all know what politics is like (hence my disdain and lack of interest!)

I would be stunned if it was Jon Tandy. Didn't he defeat an anti-stadium councillor to get elected?
On what basis could he possibly object?

I too would be very surprised if it was Jon Tandy - I thought he was one of the few councillor who were in favour of the new ground. ??someone trying to cause dissent. Hope you are all being paid journalist fees for your contributions!!

New headline in Star saying it will be open for Carlisle. They probably mean the match on Tuesday 10th February....

Conspiracy Theory 1
i think what may have happened here is that part of the planning application made in Feb to allow more parking at GM and allow more non football function the council have pointed out the extra parking available at the P&R... the club eager to get more parking for profit have said we dont want the P&R to be open hence club and council agreed.... however now the hits the fan and the club eagar to save face go back to the council hence change of mind...
Alternative Theory
Matt Williams negotiates with the council and hence change of heart

Like the pillock 'a real business m man' in the Shropshire star article

Council are damned if they do and damned if they don't in situations such as this. Lots of debate going on behind the headlines and I'm sure that this will cease to be a problem in the near future

I don't buy into Conspiracy Theory 1. Perhaps the mention of falling attendances had the desired effect and MW made a few phone calls...
A good result. Now get that planning application approved and get the developers on Oteley Road to extract their digits and finish the job before there's an accident.

Looks like the park and ride was closed on the request of a local councillor.
Which appears very strange.
