Looks a good player and is a bit of a blow but we have replacements.
Gayle-Goldson-NKP-Demetriou looks a very solid back 4 plus there is Jermaine Grandison who has showed in League One he is a decent CB.

Would be good experience for dom smith to have a few appearances this season , maybe he will get on the bench if anyone else takes a knock in defence .

It's amazing, by the looks of it whenever a player gets injured they're gonna have to do something major to get back in the side. Feels good, eh?

Demetriou did really well going forward on Saturday but struggled against the quick winger Tranmere had and was at fault for their goal not picking up their man coming in from the wing
Think KP is better defensively at left back so having Ellis out and KP having to cover centre back is a bit of a blow

KP was centre back in the league one play off final last season wasn't he?
Having him at centre back for Shrewsbury this season is anything but a blow!

I really don't want to keep referring back to last season constantly but if this happened a year ago we would already be looking to bring in another defender on loan due to lack of options.
I know Mellon has got high expectations to live up to but I think he's landed on his feet here. He has a chairman who wants L2 football, a decent budget, inherited a thin squad so not a lot of rubbish and has a fanbase who are impressed because we have players to cover injuries

Personally I think NKP could turn out to be one of our best players, I feel much more confident with him and Connor as the CB pairing.
