Who do you think deserves to start at Wimbledon? For me I have been most impressed with Burton looks ahead of his game already and looks the most comfortable of the 3. I hope Mellon does a Peters and chucks him in. Did Joe the world of good.

I personally would rather we had only signed one senior keeper to fight it out with Burton - there is always the loan option and plenty of young Premier League keepers needing first team experience should we need it due to injury/poor form.
As it is, I would look to get Burton out on a full season loan in the Conference North or Conference where he'll get roughed up a bit and likely play week in week out - we could probably come to an arrangement where he could still train with us a couple of days a week so we can keep close tabs on his development, with a view to him becoming first choice in 2015/16.
Given Leutwiler is slightly older and more experienced than Halstead, and that he has being given the number 1 shirt, I expect him to be between the sticks on opening day.

I expect Leutwiler to start - not sure if Burton is big and strong enough for L2 yet, but I would not mind if he got a start in the Blackpool game to give him a proper test, although ha;staed is more likely to be given a go in that one
I really think any top keeper has to be at least 6' 3" or 6' 4" these days and I am not sure Burton will end up that big

Burton looks a terrific prospect but I don't think he is ready to play a part in a promotion chasing League 2 team.
Ideally I would have liked to see Weale stay on with Burton playing cup games.

I was just staying ideally it would be have been good to have someone with experience (like Weale) that could guide Burton a bit. Leutwiler and Halstead lack any significant experience at all.

Don't think squad numbers have been announced or have they? According to the Chesterfield psf programme Leutwiler is 1, Halstead is 21 and Burton is 36 (these weren't the same numbers as on the team sheet on the day so I presume they are the actual squad numbers). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrewsbury_Town_F.C.#Current_squad

Not having seen all 3 in action I'm not sure but a Blackpool fan we spoke to at the FSF / SD Summit at the weekend had nothing good to say about Halstead.

Halstead wanted number the 21 that he has had for a few years now, so numbers and selection don't really equate to much.He would be my starting GK, without hesitation.Leutwiler looks a little shaky in the times that i have seen him, although they are only friendlies, and like we have all said:- they don't matter too much as they are all finding their feet, so to speak. Burton, i have no doubt, will become a good keeper once he plays week in and week out, but it is a massive ask, to have him starting. Halstead got a lot of bad press when leaving Blackpool for gobbing off, and some pool fans offence. I, however, take as i find, and for what its worth at this very moment in time, Halstead should start. Only my opinion though, and that could change the next time i see them play. It may all be academic anyway, as Halstead missed the last match and will miss tyhe next, with a hamstring injury

Its all just opinion from me. Halstead has spent more time in the Championship and Premier league than the other two, albeit mainly from the bench. I remember him coming on for Blackpool against Chelsea and he didn't look too phased by their quality, and didn't seem to let himself or anyone else down either, but whoever gets the nod, gets my support, as long as they give 100%. Realistically, none of us really know much about any of them in competetive match situations, so whether anyone agrees, or disagrees with me, Mickey Mellon is the one in who we put our trust to make the right call

1 thing for sure is he has been the better of the keepers during pre season. Is a little harsh to think he is 3rd choice. As Blazey pointed out did we need 2 keepers? You could also ask Danny Coyne to fill in as 3rd choice if we only signed the 1.

We'll we are in the good position of having 3 keepers that IMO deserve a start in the first game . I think it will be halstead though . Hopefully burton will get some game time this season

Having seen all the games so far I think it's clear that Burton will be a very good keeper. He has looked very confident and just looks safer somehow.
Having said that I expect Mellon to opt for Flappy, sorry Leutwiler ;P
Maybe he'll improve given games...

We're so used to seeing very good Goalies at Salop, just think of the quality we've had over the years.
Even relatively decent ones are quickly forgotten.
Maybe we're a hard audience to win over?

Can't see any reason to keep Halstead on the books.
Burton has now had some experience in the Conference and we also have Rowley and Lewis.
