I doubt he will get a first team chance there but good luck to the lad.

You might be surprised pughy. He's a good player, I'd hope he gets an opportunity in non-league.

A very good centre half indeed,a bit of education on the rigours of lower league football in the Conference will do him no harm at all... will be a Salop regular in 18 months .....

Sounds like he has already made an impression in his first game (a friendly against Crewe last night) Silky Smith
With our options at Centre Back, it seems a good move for everyone. Good Luck Dom!

Good move for all concerned, hope Callum Burton gets the chance to go out as well if he starts the season as third choice.

Macclesfield's manager has said that he needs eight signings and last year's budget seems a fortune compared to what he's been given.

I assume this isn't official yet and Macc are just "Having a look" unless there is an official link? Shrewsfan your time has come

Confused now as Smith was a sub for us yesterday and Macc had a friendly game too?

Confused now as Smith was a sub for us yesterday and Macc had a friendly game too? Apparently it was a bit of a trial for Smith ahead of a potential loan move.

Some Macc fans reckoned his appearance for Macc was more of a trial with a view to taking the player on loan.
I'm hoping however that Mellon has brought the lad back to take part in the bonding that this raft of new players are undertaking just now and will join up with Macc nearer the time when the season starts.
The lad needs games and a season at conference level would be an excellent test for him at this stage in his career.
