On his latest Shrewsplayer interview Mellon on signing Robinson and Clark he says he hopes to have the mystery third signing wrapped up this afternoon.

I don't think we'd approve the overtime on a day like this!?!?

Looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow. Would imagine it is a 4th striker coming in. A player not on trial so looks like Asante hasn't quite done enough. Should be the final piece of the jigsaw.

Rumoured to be Andy Mangan, ex Fleetwood, Blackpool. Currently at Forest Green

Very much looks like it is Mangan. That would explain the comment about having it sorted a couple of weeks back but it being complicated with his club.

Isn't he best mates with Joey Barton?
Pretty underwhelmed but he is going to be 4th choice striker. I still think Akwasi Asante would be a better option but he will probably want first team football.

Last played in October then suspended. Out for 6 months whilst at Fleetwood with a serious knee injury. Seems to have been a naughty boy in the past but MM clearly knows how to handle him. Was on a 3 year contract at FGR. Very impressive scoring record.

I don't think it is Mangan, I don't know who mind, but allegedly whispers are that it is bigger than the Lawrence signing.

After this build up I'll be very disappointed if it is Junior Brown

Bigger than Lawrence? Must be Nikola Zigic.

We might get a bookies built in the stand if its Chopra or Mangan! Neither would impress me. Mangan is 27, only really scored lots in non league, on a big money at FGR apparently and had disciplinary probs. Chopra seems a total waster and I really wouldn't want to see him in a town shirt.
I thinl we just need a young hungry striker who wants to learn and can make an impact off the bench. Wouldn't want to are the applecart upset given the seemingly excellent recruitment to date. Is Tom Barkheizen as possibility, and the mess at Blackpool is holding things up? Wouldn't fit the high profile description though.

Without a point on the board admittedly, but you have to hope that this season we will be going up with the players we have already so we do not really need another expensive contract and could aford to get a bright young thing.
Barkheizen would be an interesting prospect; surprised it is not Asante as he has looked good, but if someone better like Milan Lalkovič is possible then that would be fantastic.

Milan Lalkovič, are you for real? The lad was class in League One last year, so why on earth would he go to a League Two club, his career is on the up, not down. To much football manager?

another player familiar to Mellon and has done well for him, but that was a good few years ago.
What has happened to him at Forest Green?
